Official 370 Sundancer thread

Are our cockpit lights dimmable (radar arch and sides)? I just ordered some new lumitec lights but i can't remember if the existing lights are dimmable with the dimmer dial or if that is only for the dash/instrument panel lights...

Responded to your pm - enjoy the lights, they're awesome.

Hey all. Newbie on the site, but long time boater. Good stuff here.

Looking at a 1995 370. Seems to be in great cosmetic shape, fairly stock I believe. Newer carpet, upholstery. Could not find any soft spots in my first inspection- floors lockers etc. Rebuilt engines by a local reputable shop abou 300 hrs ago.

Obviously very interested in full survey and sea trial.

Is there anything specific to this model I should be looking for? I currently have a 2001 3055 (yes bayliner owners club lol) so I am used to older boats and have been around boats for many years.

Appreciate any insight.

Brad

Quick question - has anyone had to replace the foot switch (specifically the plastic covers) for the windlass mounted on deck? I have a Lewmar Concept 1 and contacted Lewmar, they don't make those same covers/switches any more. Anyone have suggestions or a part number of something that would be the same size?

Bryan

I've been trying to find for years - somebody said they had a few but wanted $300 each, no thanks. Let me know if you have any luck

I just ordered a set from Imtra online, will let you know if they are the right size. $19 each...

I did a search here on the forum (maybe the maintenance section) and saw that someone else had gotten them and it was right.

PLEASE DO. When i called the stealer (Marinemax) they told me they only could be replaced as the entire unit even though i only needed the covers, and quoted me some ridiculous amount.

I received them yesterday, they look to be exactly what is on the boat but won't be able to check for sure until the weekend. The website is www.imtra.com and the part number is spa-10505W - $19 each. Will report back once on the boat.

installed them earlier today, perfect fit using existing screw holes. let me know how you make out.

Hi everybody. It has been a long time since my last post here, but I come often to read yours.

Yesterday after heavy rain that last almost a full day the upholstery over the front bed, on the port side and somewhat in the middle was wet. So now comes the fun to locate where the water comes from.

Has it happened to any of you and if the case what was the cause of the leak ?

Thank you.

Chances are good it's coming from the top of the rub rail. I had an issue at my stern, put a bead of caulk from captains chair around back to helm seat and now dry as a bone.

Or check the window hatch above the forward cabin, make sure it's sealed proper.

Very good comments, thank you. I should have been more specific and mentioned that it is the "padding" located around and over the front part of the forward bed that is wet. Only the left side is wet. The top over the bed is dry.

I suspect the stanchions, but it is hard to determine.

Hey Guys,

Powered helm seat not working - and suggestions on what to look at?

Thank you

Quick question - I did a quick search on the thread and also on the 370sundancers.com website, anyone remove, repair and replace the port side companion helm seat? The backrest seems to have been cracked/broken on the seat and looking for some ideas on how best to not make a complete mess. Suggestions anyone?

We did repair the backrest and seat but never re-installed it. The seating area became a GREAT bar area for food and cocktails. With so much seating on the 370 we didn't figure we would miss the seat. We had a piece of Corian cut to fit from a local millwork shop that handles that stuff. (A kitchen cabinet supply store can do the same thing).

We took the broken seat to our canvas shop so they could remove all the vinyl and foam for later use and re-installation. After they stripped the vinyl we were able to use the broken pieces of wood as a template to make new ones, but we went one step further and re-enforced them with aluminum angle pieces so we wouldn't have to deal with it in the future. If we ever sell the boat we will sell it with the seat and it will be a very easy install for them.

I have pictures of it here:

Here is a photo library just in case the above link doesn't come through.
Hope this helps.

What do people do with their old canvases? Just replaced my camper canvas on our '95 370. Any body looking for any extra panels in blue? Or should I just recycle/junk them?

We put our old canvas back on when she goes into storage so that is there are any roof leaks, they don't leave marks on the new canvas. In storage, I don't care what it looks like or need to see out of the eisenglass.

Has anyone replaced their coffeemaker? Mine seems to have crapped the bed and to compound it, now whenever the outlets are powered up the unit is constitutively on (ie. hot) which I don't like for obvious reasons. While I plan on removing the two screws and trying to unplug it i was wondering if anybody knew of a good replacement or had found other use for that space.
