Pics aren't the best as the sun had just set behind the peaks, but even in this lighting - the white was FAR superior to what I had previously. The red and blue are pretty cool too.....

Would love to see the pics, can you email me? I also owe some canvas pics, turned out amazing - will try to take some today.

Curious...what is behind the mirror in the bathroom? The one to the immediate left when entering the head. If removed, will I be able to reach up into the ceiling like where the port wiper motor sits?

I am replacing the Carbon Monoxide detector in the cabin. From this picture you can see it above the cabinets to the right.

What possibly could be powering the CM detector? When I purchased the new one (exact replacement from West Marine), I removed the old one and see two wires (positive and negative) coming from the wall. Is this a stock location where Sea Ray installed these detectors? There is no bracket for this detector, it was just screwed into the wall and it looks like someone did a poor job in creating a slit in the wall to slide the wires thru.

When I remove the cover on the ceiling, (galley light and stereo speaker), I can see the port wiper motor and deeper into the ceiling. I see red/black wires leading from the wiper motor and going towards the bow. I am not sure if these are the wires powering up the detector. I wired up the new detector, no light. I turned on the wiper (just for **** and giggles) and still no light.

Any help would be appreciated.

HI H2o Livin,
Just a thought on the placement of the CO2 detector. I don't understand why Sea Ray placed it so high, and if anyone knows, please share..:) A standard CO2 detector needs to be placed lower in the vessel and or home for it to work properly and detect the low lying fumes. When we purchased our vessel the CO2 detector was not installed at that location, or any location for that matter.

We had wondered what was mounted there originally so rather than working too hard during boating season we purchased a really cool sign to mount in that location and cover up the holes in the vinyl. We also purchased a battery operated detector and mounted it lower in the mid berth area to detect the fumes quicker should they eminate from the engine room.

As a seasonal checklist pre-launch we replace the batteries in the detector to make sure we are protected. I would do some Googling to see what the best placement for a CO2 detector is and work with that to be safe.

Just my 2 cents worth.
Enjoy the season!!

I have been looking through pictures on 370sundancers.com and notice that most of the CO2 detectors are located exactly where mine was. Curious, if anyone else had to replace theirs and if so, if they know where the wires that power it come from.

Carbon monoxide is roughly the same weight as regular air so it is recommended that CO detectors be placed roughly the same height as your nostrils. I think the location in the. 370 is a compromise (isn't everything on boat) between a standing adult and vicinity of CO producers like engines. (Hence, near the door.)

When I bought my boat, the CO detector was disconnected from the wires because it would start beeping when the house batteries got low.

are you looking for the location of the wires because they have been cut short of the current location? If not, I would leave it where it is.

After looking at the pictures of other 370s, I am under the belief that Sea Ray installed those detectors in the location I am referring too. IF this is indeed true, I am quite sure the wiring of the detector has to be the same. Thus my question...where does the wiring for the detector come from? Mine is not powering up.
