Official 370 Sundancer thread

I replaced that unit 1 1/2 years ago after getting a great deal on a fall boat show leftover. There is a bit of work to get it out.

First you have to remove the two drawers below the mid-cabin closet. If you look behind the drawers, you can see the unit. Then in the floor of the mid-cabin closet, you will see a panel that can be removed above the unit. The unit comes out after you remove the drawers guides in front of the unit. There is also a removable panel in the side of that closet which also gives access to the vents and other connections. The control module and wiring is located under the settee, screwed to the wall of the drawer unit beside it. Wiring is snaked all around with the control thermostat mounted in the aft side of that cabinet. But you do not have to remove the cabinet to get all this out.

My replacement unit has more BTUs and is smaller and lighter (thank god) so it was much easier to install than to remove the old unit. Turns out the old unit was perfectly fine, just needed a recharge in case anyone is interested.

I think Ive got some picts up on 370sundancer.com. I try to locate the directly link and if not let me see about getting some picts up there for you.

Took me a while to find the pics and there were far less than I thought. But what I have can be found here:
http://www.370sundancer.com/OddsnEnds/photos-207/

Just to be clear, all you need to do is remove the drawers to the cabinet and then the drawer slides and the entire AC unit can be removed through the hole once you have everything disconnected. Good Luck!

Thought I would post another buyer beware. After being ripped off by VectorLed and Scott Cambra, I shipped my OEM dash panels to Marinemarks to have them done. This has been over 8 weeks ago. He 3 times as told me "they are done today", and continues to not send them or then answer calls/emails. I would warn anyone out there NOT to use either VectorLed or Marinemarks for replacement dash panels(or anything else)...my boat has been sitting useless since Feb due to these two characters;

I dont want to beat a dead horse on dash panels, but thought I would post another update for the Searay crowd to consider given the high number Searay owners that have to replace SR's low quality OEM panels. Happy boating.

Gene, Thanks for the tips. Found your pics too. Going to attempt to get it out today. -Jack

Thanks again, Gene. Saw the pics, and that gave me a good clue on what to remove. Took a couple of hours and some skinned knuckles, but we got it out today. -Jack

After much pondering and questioning, we decided to use our local canvas and carpet guy for boats to do the new cockpit carpets for our 1995 370. We debated on whether or not to take the rear carpet all the way back or not. Finally we decided we'd do it. It's a bit of a chore to take out to open the engine hatch. But I figure another 5 minutes on the boat is never a bad thing! Doug from Shoreline Canvas in Kelowna took the carpets out as far as he could and has them under the doors to the fridge and battery switches.

Since we like pics here, I figured I'd post a few.

Just a couple more pics. Shoreline Canvas & Covers in Kelowna BC is my guy. Pics here of the fit around the fridge and battery switches under the sink and in front of the port seat.

Nice carpet job, how much? I notice your stereo is mounted in the dash, good idea. I hated having to go into the salon, the 460 they moved it to the dash but the 520 they put it back in the salon, not sure why.

Thanks Russ! The job was a grand, installed. He included an extra carpet to fit at the gate to stop dirt at that point. He also put snaps on the dock & snapped to old carpet from the helm to the dock.

The stereo is after market. The previous owner put it in with subwoofer and big ass speakers mounted on the arch. The sub is in the helm bench plus 4 other speakers in the cockpit. The tv can be hooked into the system if you want to watch movies upstairs.

He also replaced the salon radio with a new Clarion. He replaced all the speakers there and the flat screen in the stateroom runs through it too. You just move it to the salon if you want.

Glad I didn't pay for that! But an awesome sound system with speakers on the transom outside for when you're sitting on the platform.

Maybe I should take some shots and post too?

Yes. Pictures. Always.

Well then there's another excuse to go to the boat tomorrow and take some pics!

Doug is installing the sun pads next. That'll be another great photo essay. I'll have to send 'em to ya Duck. Good stuff for the site!

I should be taking delivery of my "New to Me"...(hmm...possible name there), 1992 370 in about two weeks. The survey was completed, minus the engines, last Friday and the surveyor was VERY impressed. I've listened to both sides of the "It sat too long" argument and barring anything wrong with the motors, I'm still forging ahead. I used Greg Weeter of Riverlands Marine Surveyors. I haven't received the full report yet, but got a synopsis yesterday. Today I spent the afternoon getting very acquainted with a buffer and a tub of Buff Magic. I only had a few hours so I only got the starboard side finished below the rub rail. I can't really get great pics but here's what I have.

I really want to name her "Mass" or "Church" so my wife won't feel the Catholic guilt every weekend.

I'll post more when she floats.

Okay...I am hoping for help here...stock Clarion istereo from back in the day...everything worked just fine went she went into storage but now there is no power to either the head unit or cd changer. Is there a fuse of some kind that I am missing along the way? Hidden somewhere that I have not been able to find? Switch for "stereo" is on but no power at all...thanks in advance for your help!

Just saw Havnfun yet's post plus Gene asked for me to post pics of the custom install on our 370. Can't take claim on this it came with the boat. The bill on this is pretty high but lots of options, speakers and good sound. All speakers in the salon and stateroom were replaced, all new upstairs. 4 new 6 inchers and the 2 bazookas plus sub upstairs. Two stern outdoor speakers and a mounted remote on the top of the stern to the right of the access gate. Here's some pics and descriptions where appropriate.

Hope you like the pics.

Not totally sure here, but check the fuse panel on the pull out below the steering wheel. There is a push button DC circuit breaker there labelled ACCY that might feed the stereo even though it is far away. I will try to check the wiring diagram in the PDFs of the manual to see if I come up with anything else. Since both hits are affected, I doubt it is a fuse behind the units in the salon.

Gene

I would also pull out all the fuse panels and double check that a wire didn't come off the breaker. I have seen blade style connections come loose over time.

Good golly!!! Lord knows I love my music LOUD, but holy crap that thing must ROAR! Not sure about your taste in music, but I can imagine Led Zeppelin's Black Dog coming out of those speakers and rocking it. Must sound pretty good even at low volumes.

There is a stock 10a fuse in that panel for the radio feed. Also mine had a fuse in line behind the stereo itself.

Hi Gene...I'm all in for some Led Zep. 35+ years in radio and we just don't play them that much any more.
