DASH PANELS - VECTOR IMAGING

I ordered, and paid for, Dash Panels for my 1996 370 Sundancer from Scott @ Vector LED in late November.
I spoke with him by phone around January 10th. He told me to call him back in about 10 days. Last week I called, left messages, emailed... No Reply??? I'm getting nervous!!!

I spoke to him Monday and I will be getting my panels this week. Hard to get whole of him, but keep calling.

I am finally getting RADAR! ... but a little unclear on how to route the wiring from arch. Has anyone done this and do you have loosen the arch for adequate assess to the wiring and transition from arch to starboard bilge? I am asking before I have actually looked, but I assume the process is to snake wire from the top of the arch ultimately into the engine compartment and then along the same pathway as shift cables. ...my big question is how to and how hard it is to loosen arch if necessary?

Blisshouse2,

If you remove the finish panel the speaker is mounted to on the arch it gives you a little more room to access the arch.
There is a hole already thru the arch and the boat to snake wires from the arch into the helm area. I was able to snake a cable wire and
12 volt power source from speaker to speaker in order to hook up a LCD TV at the wet bar and run the cable wire into the cabin and connect
it to the splitter at the TV next to the settee. If you acquire a metal snake that an electrician uses to fish wires thru a wall this was a life saver to run my wires!

Remove the speaker and look around the hole in the finish panel, there will be 3-4 screws that hold the panel in place. They may be hidden by the vinyl and once removed slide the panel back and you're in business!

I just fed the wire down through the arch then over to the helm. It's pretty easy. I don't think going to the bilge would be much more difficult. You do not need to loosen the arch.

I guess that is where I'm confused, where was your exit point and how did you snake over to the helm out of sight. Again, I should probably spend some time looking before asking, but I assumed the arch opening spilled directly into the engine compartment. Thanks for the help (to all), as I didnt want to jump though any unnecessary hoops if I didnt have to so I'm asking the experts!

Remove the subwoofer, you will have all the room you need, this will allow you to reach up behind the helm. Also, at least on my boat, there are two PVC conduits in this area, one goes down into the bilge and the other goes behind the TV in the salon. Both of them even had pull wires already in them, couldn't have been easier.

The arch sits on top of the side rail of the boat. It does not extend down into the bilge. Flip open the seat right behind the helm and you should be able to see what's going on in there.

Fellow 370 owners,

Have any of you installed a sounder box in your boat and, if so, where did you install it? Garmin mentions installing their (GSD22) in cool dry place with access. My current B&G unit that came stock is not cutting it anymore. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Andy, I mounted a GSD 22 on the starboard aft in the space just in front of the transmission and it worked out great on my 97 370. I also put in the fuel sensors and mounted them to the bulkhead on the starboard side.

Thanks Russ, I was hoping that mounting the GSD22 in the ER would work. That is the area I was thinking about. Did you also put in a new transducer and, if so, was it a thru hull? Which one? Thanks again in advance!

PS, love your new 460! What a great boat! Congrats again!

Oops sorry Andy, I didnt use the gsd22 - I thought I did it sounded so familiar. But I only wanted a redundant depth finder so I put in the intelliducer. It gave me depth, speed and temp on my 5212. I'm not sure I would put that black box in the engine room but mine was pretty dry and if you think about it the electronics are on the top of that thru hull for the intelliducer so I guess it was not much different.
Thanks, cant wait to bring her home.

I thought I would update the Sea Ray crowd on a sad and irritating story. Upon multiple recommendations I ordered new dash panels from Scott Cambra at vectorled. I PREPAID for them to the tune of $450 and then he totally dropped off the face of the planet. He changed his voicemail claiming he had to move his shop, gave others different excuses. I was on the ClassicMako boards and there are dozens of people that are out substantial money and cant get a response from him..many have lost their original panels after mailing them to him. I wanted to warn you, the man has taken money from me without delivering product; at least 7 others claim the same thing that I have come across since Jan 1. ..I hope he makes me whole and provides my panels, but at this point it seems he is MIA.

If anyone has other recommendations for panel makers, I'm all ears and need some dearly given I have cut my dash to accommodate a new plotter, but have a gap to cover which is left from the unit I had to remove.

happy boating!

Sorry to hear your plight. We appreciate the heads up and warning. Good luck to you!

I may have been one of the last people to get replacement dash panels from Scott at Vector.
If someone sent him their dash panels, and now have no panels, I have my old ones.
My boat is a 1996, 370 Sundancer.
If you need my panels, just let me know?!?!

We want pics! I saw the progress first hand today and Marty puts the Sea Ray installers to Shame! Looking Good!

Hi Guys!
Still working on floor but here are some pics, I have changed the steps to an open staircase. Dont mind date on pics, need to modify camera. It has been a challenge to work around the hatches. I designed them to match what Sea Ray is doing for the larger yachts. As I continue I will post Pics! I am trying to finish before she hits the water next month.

Hello 370ers’- Not sure if this is the right forum to post this but I’ll give it a shot – we have a ’96 370 which we have had since ’06, great boat. The most significant upgrade thus far has been the installation of an inverter, integrated into the upper circuit bank of the shore power system. We can brew coffee, run the blender and watch a movie without running the generator. Other upgrades; custom built cabinet to replace the TV in the salon, which holds books, remotes a DVD player etc. We installed a LED flat screen on the bulkhead above the aft bunk, viewing is much better given the design of the settee. The usual stuff with the electronics and a roll-on/roll off davit system for our RIB which enables us to keep the 15hp OB and deploy/retrieve without much effort. I am looking for the sources of odd parts such as the plastic plugs on the throttle/shifter T-handles (we are missing the two on the throttles), replacement gauges and Sundancer graphics/stripes which run along either side of the cockpit – any suggestions?

Thanks
Cptn Chuck
