Just not getting cold. After 13 years I hate to put money into it so just looking to replace. Do they still sell the same model?

Folks,

Has anyone had any experience, good or bad, re-powering using remanufactured engines from U.S. Marine Engines out of Kent, WA? They advertise rebuilding a 7.4/454 engine to get additional HP and torque and much better gas economy. Other companies are Michigan Motorz and Eagle Engines but they don't produce a "beefed-up" engine.

ULine is very much still in business and I have seen units listed at Defender starting at around $800.

Hi all,
just popping in to say hello from Norway. I have looked through the complete thread, lot of information here. As you can see I have a 1994 model, just purschased the boat and it will be a winter project with different restoring issues. One motor has the famous water ingress problem from the exhaust, and is blocked. The other has not been started for three years. Both motors look to be 1998 Horizon's and must therefore have been replaced. The boat is a US version and imported to Norway in 2006.The boat has been stored on land for three years, and obviously look thereafter also. Must be complete rubbed and waxed, any proposal for some good stuff here? Further i must rebuild som parts in the boat to meet the CE-marking (European approval), Europe don't agree with US coast guard in all demands for a boat. So as you can see, I like the other scandinavian guy here, will have a lot of work on the boat. But opposite to him I have decided to go for the gas system until further. Gas is expensive, 1 US gallon is 3,8 litres. Price here (Norway) will be USD 9,85 pr. gallon. Diesel is around USD 6,00 for a gallon. So you can see why he replaced the motors with diesel. However my boating is 80% in slow speed, and I can't therefore see I will earn in the price of the much more expensive diesel motors, so for now i will repair the broken gas motor and start next season with that.

I'll be back with more stuff and questions. Please also fell free to ask whatever you like, regarding motors, Norway and boating. But for the type boat itself, it will be me asking you're all a lot.

Regards from John

hi all
just purchased a new to me 93 370 sd. I cannot find the switch that controls the courtesy lighting on the cabin steps and also the step next to the v berth. If i could find a wiring schematic I might be able to trace the circuit, but it seems like a hard schematic to locate. right now the only way to shutt off the lights is to turn batts off on starbd. engine. Anybody familiar with this model. Thanks in advance and this website is a fantastic resource Cort

Welcome John. Send me some pictures of your boat, before and after, for the www.370sundancer.com site. You will find a large number of photos there which might help with your restoration. In the meantime, ask away with your questions.

Your boat is older than the group here, so our experience might not be valid. The switch for those lights in my boat is located right next to the entry stairs along with the switch for the galley lights. YMMV.

The ice maker replacement is one of the easiest fixes you'll ever do. One hose type screw on water connection and electrically it plugs into an outlet behind it. I take mine out every year to remove the fill valve because I can never seem to get it winterized properly. 1/2 hour job at most, hardest part is snaking it around the corner (to the aft) to get it out of the hole.

no switches at cabin entrance Gene. Last owner said they were on the entire time they owned the boat. [kept plugged in at a slip] this cant be the way sea ray designed their circuitry. Is there another users group I should be on with a 93 boat? New to csr still figuring out the site thanks Cort

Does any one know the Correct part No. for the oil filter and fuel filter for a 1997 Mercruiser 7.4 L M.P.I. bluewater engine.

Thanks

Mine used to list very slightly to port when the holding tank was full but three inches is excessive. If you have a two hundred pound person stand on the starboard side would it level out? Maybe you if you shift a hundred pounds of gear from port to starboard it would help. My boat never seemed to be very sensitive to where I put my gear it always seemed to sit level but I don't know how you have yours loaded. I would also check to see if the fuel tanks are even maybe one of the gauges is wrong.

My 1998 370 tends to lean to the port side about 3". Did not notice it until this year. Any thoughts?

I have had the same experience. When the head is full you'll get as list to port. I've been trying to determine the accuracy of my gauges too. I've been using one of those little laser heat detection guns. They are cheap and most automotive parts stores cary them. There is a slight temperature difference between the part of the tank that contains fuel and there part that doesn't. This will give you a general idea of what the fuel level really is. Getting to the port tank is a bit tight.

Sure. New 370 is 450K plus set up right. Put some money into yours. ;-)

So I know how we all love pics, so here is a few little improvments I have made.

I acquired new chrome hardware for the cabinets from FlounderPounder Marine. Also shown is my stab at a TV at two locations with one mount, working out very well. Only thing left to do is install a slide on cable end for quick removal, the threaded end that came with the coaxial wire is a pain to remove.

My first leak is also shown which I thought I would include with this note. From what I tell the water that beads up on the glass above the outer chrome ring sits along the top edge and finally disappears behind the ring, slowly follows the edge down and collects in the plywood / balsa coring that frames the portlight. water starts to get sucked up by the foam on the back of the upolstery and trickles down and lays on the glassed shelf where the fabric backsplash along the edge sucks up the water and bingo leak shows up as staining. Luckily the shelf seems to be good except for the edge which is not bad. I plan to pull the portlights on the starboard side and rebed over winter. You can tell if this is happening simply by removing the interior trim ring and look at the coring and see if its wet!
