Official 370 Sundancer thread

I REALLY want to figure out a way to make the windshield of my 370 a walkthrough. I’m tired of having to go around the side gunnel or trying to jump over the windshield to grab the windlass foot controls to anchor. Anyone else see or done it themselves to modify the windshield and remove the power window part?
Matt

The forward unit is the larger one as heats and cools the main cabin, the bathroom and the forward cabin. The rear unit just does the aft cabin.

Not the whole cabinet.
Pull the drawers, and you will see that the frame for the drawers can be unscrewed from the side walls of the cabinet. Then, you pull that out as a unit. That will give you clearance to get the old unit out.
If memory serves, the aft unit was 12K and the forward unit was a 9K.
I replaced mine with a 16Kbtu in the rear, and 12Kbtu in the vee berth. MarineAire units with built in pressure gauges.
They have been flawless for quite a number of years. Hope I didn't just jinx myself.
The 16K was definitely a tight fit, but it did fit. I can post a link to some photos of after.

Only if the curtain is closed. I personally find, in the Florida/Bahamas weather, that the Salon A/C does most of the work. Ask the ones in the galley.
But, I'm just a newbie here. My 16K is doing just fine.

Sea Ray did do this in later years. Not sure whether a windshield from later models will have the same radius as ours. Plus, what, jump up on the helm seating and hop over to the console to get out? No steps, unless you do them. Keep us posted.
Sawsall?

That is why it is smaller, it only has one vent. I just replaced both and upsized the front to a 16k and the aft to a 9k and had to add a second vent to it.

good move. I haven't had any freeze up issues, but was thinking about running a vent to the helm for those Floridays.

You take out the upholstery piece that the speaker hole is in the arch and run a fish tape up toward the dash area. No need to try and access through the sub speaker or cup holder.

I am replacing my VHF radio and antenna in our 1996 370 DA. I have the antenna installed but ran into a roadblock running the new antenna cable. The old antenna cable is zip tied and secured with a screw in multiple places so I cant a attach the new cable to the old one and simply pull it through. I may be able to get at the cable if I could figure out how to remove the panel (cup holder area) next to the power seat at the helm. Any suggestions on how to run the cable would be great appreciated.

I removed my arch twice. Once to truck up to Ditto Landing, and once back to Florida.
I removed the L shaped bolsters and installed inspection hatches on both sides of the arch so I could get to the bolts for the arch without having to lay on my back in the locker and reach 30ish inches up with a socket. Removing the speaker bolster above it would accomplish the same thing for running a wire from the arch to the helm. Still needed to get thru the sub woofer hole at the helm to finish getting the wire(s) to the helm. Always pull a string with it, because, you will be back.

Anyone repair /replace Air Conditioner keypads? both work , however one is dark and the other is missing digits.. source?
Thanks

Has anyone replaced the bug screens on the portholes? Mine were tattered as hell and I was tired of looking at it so i just cut them out.

The admiral found a stowaway spider inside the cabin and refuses to board until i deal with it. Any insights would be greatly appreciated! It just might save my marriage...

Cheers.

So i removed all the pinstriping from my 95 DA

Took about 4 hours per side a variable heat heat gun is essential for this task. I even removed the plastic gold sea ray emblems.

Starting to do the polish/wax this week. I dont think the vessel has seen wax in 10 years.

Contemplating a black lower wrap as well but so many projects on the go.

This is my new anti bird device.

All parts aquired on amazon for about 80$ except for the tripod which i already had.

Essentially its a bunch of flashing spinners except that i mounted them on a ptz camera pan tilt mount with pre-set movements so it moves around and spins. Haven't seen a buzzard dare roost up there yet and no more bird shit.
