Official 370 Sundancer thread

Can anyone suggest a new steering wheel for my 1995 370 ??? The stock black one just has to go. Trying to spruce my dash up a little bit. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I removed my steering wheel because I wanted to replace it. I wound up removing the fake wood (2 screws on the back), taped off the round part of the wheel and hit the steel inner part with some Rustoleum spray paint. Turned out so nice I never bought a new wheel.

Thanks for responding gentleman - I wil opt for a new wheel. My wheel is an old looking black thing that needs to be sank after I put my new one on.

I also am looking for a new matress for the main stateroom. Any suggestions for ordering a new one ????

Two years ago we got one from Handcraft. http://www.hmcwest.com/index.html

Since then, there have been times that I have woken up in the middle of the night and forgot that I wasn't at home and have smashed into the hull as I tried to get up. I travel a fair bit and never forget where I am. It is that much better than the old matress.

Going to look at a 95 370 sundancer this sat (3-2) that is suppose to have a kohler gen. Did sea ray use kohlers also? It has 175hrs and the boat has 570hrs.

My '97 had a Westerbeke. A great genny that had many more hours on it than the mains

Friend of mine had a 1996 330DA with a Kohler so I guess they did use them at some point. Mark

Check for rot in the wooden base of the cockpit and helm seating, the padded bolsters on the radar arch where the speakers are mounted, and the floor of the side storage compartments in the cockpit.

Saw the boat today. It been on dry dock for 2 years. It looks like as if they parked the boat and walked off. Clothes, shoes, beer cans, pots and pans. Kids toys, dog food in bowl, Golf clubs. Broker says that someone in the family got sick and all the attention went to that person. Just sounds fishy to me. But who knows. It needs a good cleaning and that I mean a lot of cleaning. But it all seems to be there. 570 hrs. and their asking 69900.

i paid that for a clean 95 last year. It also came with a dingy and Yamaha GTX Sea Doo. The only thing the boat needed really was new canvas. We replaced that during the season.

I guess you have to decide how much a total cleaning is worth and make an offer subject to surveys and sea trial. That is if this is the boat you want.

Boat prices are rebounding somewhat according to a google search on these boats. I'm going to wait till spring for a sea trial since it sat for 2 years. Let the seller make it sea worthy again. Instead of taking your shoes off before boarding you leave your shoes on to keep your feet clean. lol

I purchased a 96 last June from a guy that had just gone through and basically fixed everything..all new strataglass and Sunbrella plus ($8g), dripless shafts, water heater, new stainless steel fridge and MUCH MUCH more. We paid $63,000 for it and don't regret it at all!! The engines had 560 hours and the Westerbeke 7.2 also had the same..which we thought was odd but it runs great and is SUPER quiet, hard to tell it is even running.

The first weekend we went out on it after purchase the port side seat broke due to rot in the sides and base. We took it out and replaced that area with some Corian to make it a sort of "bar" area...we fixed the seat but it has not been re-installed since we love the bar space much better. We spent this past 4 months in heated storage remodeling the cabin with new flooring, carpet and upholstery. I also added over Christmas a new Lowrance HDS10 GPS/chartplotter with 3G Radar, underwater lights...it has been a fun few months but we are itching to launch. Here are the pics of the remodel if you would like to take a look.
