Official 370 Sundancer thread

So idling out from the marina today, both transmissions engaged in forward, I experienced a very noticeable vibration. Placed both transmissions in neutral and vibration was gone. Determined that the issue is on the starboard side. Had my wife continue idling out while I got in the bilge. The vibration was intermittent and I noticed water dripping off the shaft during the vibration. Decided to return to the dock on just the port engine. I did leave the starboard running and used it with no issues no vibration when docking. Checked after docking and there was no water seeping from the shaft with the engine shut down. Any ideas on possible culprit or where to start?
Something around your prop or shaft? Possible engine issue at idle?

personally, it sounds to me lie you have something wrapped around the Stbd running gear. Over the decades, I have picked up many a strange thing. The craziest was a red shag throw rug. That will get your attention.

Does anyone know where the thermostat sensor was placed for the aft air unit! I replaced my unit recently and put the sensor behind the return inter the couch but I feel like it’s fighting temp against the forward unit. And I think it’s because my aft berth is closed off with a door. But just didn’t have the problem before I change the unit

New to us 96 370 we cannot figure out how to get sound to the helm speakers. Works fine in the cabin plus the speakers light up?

Did you check the amp etc behind the backrest under the radio location in the salon?

I believe they were in the main unit, in front of the evaporator core, so measuring the air temp being sucked into the unit. My Marinaire units came with remote sensors, so I place the aft unit's sensor right behind the middle of the settee. I do not have a door to the mid cabin. Just the curtain, which never gets closed. If you've seen one, you've seen em both.

Lot of “ extras” have been added. Sound with come on and off on its own. Wondering if the amp is getting warm and cycling in and out.

I would look at the circuit that turns the amps on too. I wired mine with rocker switches so I can run sound in the cabin, but not the cockpit. I also added another amp and a set of speakers in the coaming locker on the platform, with a wired remote mounted in the locker. Now we can hear the music when behind the boat without blasting out anyone in the cockpit or cabin.

So my port engine has always had trouble starting. I took off the flame arrestor and found that my choke wasnt adjusted at all. It basically wasnt closing.

Adjusted it, seems to work better but now it doesnt fully open. Does anyone know how its supposed to be set? When i put my multimeter to the contacts on the leads that go to the electric choke im not getting any voltage.. Seems to me i should be getting a reading. I think that the automatic choke basically runs off a cable to the alternator.

Here is a picture of the choke after warming up. Is it open enough?

If your choke is like the one on my 290DA, then you're correct. The positive wire goes directly to the alternator. It won't see 12v until the boat is running. There's a procedure for setting the choke. It looks like you have a Weber 4 barrel, they're basically the same as an Edelbrock 1410. The choke adjustment is the same. Download the manual off their site.
