Fellows - In the last two yrs., I have found the fewest of 'threads' on the 'SUV' of the Sea Ray fleet ! As a result, may I submit this "thread" as the "Official Thread" for 330 EC, and the 340 AJ (1999 - 2002) !!

Great Idea Ed.

1 Admission ticket please .

good idea for a thread . I am in. I picked up a 2000 330 ec last fall and am anxiously looking forward to getting it in the water after a long winter. anyone had a custom rocketlauncher made or any auxillary rod holders added? The only real shortfall I have found so far is that there is a shortage of rod holders and no good rod storage on the boat. I pulled the icemaker and installed a custom tackle storage center. The icemaker was on it's last legs and bags of ice are cheap.

I added an upright storage rack for tackle on the wet bar/bait station. interior stroage is my challenge now. I have tried to attach pictures.

Has anyone had to try to unclog the small drains inside the cockpit that drain the ER vent, blowers louvers? I suspect that mine are clogged and can't think of a good way to try to clean them.

Hello:

I have a 1997 330 EC, so I do not have those drains. I would leave small gaps in the caulk around those ER vents. That way, there is no chance of water build-up. I had to do this on my vents due to the lack of drains.

Not to change the subject, but, what kind of cruise speeds do you get with the 3126's. My gassers are a little tired and I was considering a repower.

Thanks,

I've got a ticket to ride on this thread!:smt038

Still on the hard though :smt009 - No props, no steering wheel! Both should be reconditioned within the next two weeks and I'll be looking to make some waves.

Great idea having a dedicated thread to the "Sea Ray SUV's". It was love at first sight with the AJ - the sales guy didn't have to work too hard for that sale!:smt101

Regarding the vents... Maybe blowing compressed air into the vent's outlets would work?? Mine still do drain - right down and onto the carpet! If I could find the drain hose in the ER it might be an idea to extend the drain hoses to the shower sump. Comments?

I've been getting rain water in coming in somewhere near that vent on the port side and accumulating by the upper port stringer between the holding tank and port engine. Any ideas where it might be leaking from?? I removed the vent and will be resealing the black water shield (it was kinda mouldy on the bottom so it was getting wet). Inside the vent didn't show apparent signs of water marks though.

Definitely leave a small weap hole at the front and the back of the ER vents when you caulk them. If you have water build-up on the outboard stringer, it is directly related to that vent not draining.

I got back in the water last week after having replaced cutlass bearings and reconditioned props over the winter. what a difference. the boat is new to me but when I sea trialed it last fall, there was a noticable driveline vibration on the port engine and it would only get up to about 25 mph. new props and bearings and it pops onto plane, cruises at about 25 mph at 3400rpm and hits 35mph at about 4400 rpm. and the vibration is gone, it runs very smooth. it has 380hp 454's and 4 blade props. I am very impressed with how a boat this size handles. The previous owner had just installed a flowscan unit. he told me he had not run enough fuel through it to calibrate it yet, anyone have any experience with flowscan? my old boat only had one on the starboard engine and was calibrated when I purchased it. this one has a meter on both engines. worst case is I will need to read the directions.
