Official 330/350 (2008 and newer) Thread

Accessory 1 is the pump for the salt water wash down attached to the spigot in your anchor locker.

JV II thanks. I think that option and the air inflator are the only two that I do not have. Makes sense that Sea Ray would designate Accessory #2 for the lights and leave open accessory #1 as it must be dedicated for the anchor wash down.

I have underwater lights and not under platform lights. I believe they are wired to accessory 1. Have you found where the terminals are to wire to these accessory switches?

Ok, I checked, ACC2 is the underwater lights. ACC1 is unused on my boat but I'd like to use it. Anyone know where I can find the wires to splice into them?

The harness from the console feeds into a terminal box with push breakers behind the access door at the base of the console. This weekend when I go down to the boat I will look further or even better if the marina has done the connection for me I will know for sure how to use the acc 1. Just don't have the time to do all the connections although quick glance looks like it should be quick.

I was able to find it. ACC1 is wired to a red/violet #14 wire designated #500. I was having trouble because just inches out of the breaker box it splices to a brown #14 wire designated #349. I traced that all the way back to an unused plug coiled up and wire tied at the base of the starboard engine, starboard side. So strange. It was clearly done from the factory because the cable is inside the factory loom from start to finish. Took me 2 hours to find it.

Hi BigBoysToys. I went to the boat today and was not able to find the plug. I did not have a lot of time to look so I will go back this weekend. I am attaching a photo of the starboard engine/front of engine compartment. I was wondering if you could let me know roughly where in the picture (area) I should look. Thank you, John. I appreciate the effort but luckily I was able to find it. See my last post above. On my 330, the wire in question was in the factory loom below the batteries in your photo heading towards the stern. It was coiled up and wire tied next to the engine.

In the manual there is an "optional sun shade" that is electronically controlled. I believe I found the harness for it inside the hard top. (08 350da). Does anyone know where this would be controlled from?

On my boat, the optional sunshade is a Mantis umbrella, that fits into a rod holder. It's manual, goes up, down, can be positioned in all directions to move it, based on the sun. We bought one, and it does the trick, although it's moderate amount of effort.

I know our boats are a little different, but my manual shows an optional electric sunshade. I have never seen one but the wires are in the hard top and I did see it in the wiring diagram. I just can't figure out where it's actuated from. I would like to use the wires for an air horn.
look at page 8 of this link and then at the wiring diagram on page 33 on the right side.

Because the wires are already inside to hardtop where I would put the compressor. If I use the existing horn switch, I would have to string wires down to it.

I believe I found the unused plug wrapped up in the harness which you mentioned. It is one half of a waterproof plug with one brown and one black wire. Had a hand painted code, H20 I believe, on the plug itself. I connected up a volt meter to the plug and measured a strange .32V whether the accessory 1 switch was on or off. Did you verify that the plug you found was powered through the accessory 1 switch? Also, what wiring diagrams were you using? My set in the 330 manual and also what I downloaded on line did not have this wire from what I could see. I appreciate your help.

I appreciate the helpful feedback to my questions on this forum thread. Always helps to get more than one opinion as well as learn from others efforts. I thought I would post a picture of my helm with the retrofitted new plotter, autopilot and data display. Two years ago I had a Raymarine E125 Hybrid Touch plotter installed in place of the original C80. Even though the E125 is a 12" display, the way the control buttons and the slimmer sides made it possible, with some cutting, to shoehorn in the 12" display.

Last season I had a Raymarine Autopilot with the P70r display and also an i70 installed on the helm above the Start/Stop Engine switches. I opted for the i70 to balance out the instruments as well as get data for fuel consumption, etc. It was a real nightmare to interface to the Smartcraft system and required a Mercury NEMA2000 Gateway Module to also be installed. I can't get all the functions that are available on the Smartcraft display because of some apparent funky connections but I get many. I had all of the electronics installed by Seaport Communications in Narragansett, RI. Super team headed up by Manny Mederios. I could not power on the Smartcraft in the picture today as Port engine raw water pump shaft seized up on Monday and shot half the shaft with the pulley attached into a support strut. Waiting for repairs this week :(.

My windlass retrieves the anchor, but when trying to go down, the motor runs, yet the anchor doesn't deploy. Any suggestions?

Also, I can lower it by hand, so I don't think there's an issue with the line. And, since the motor runs, I don't think it's electrical. Thanks guys!

If you hear the motor spinning but the windlass is not turning, it sounds like the clutch mechanism may not be tightened down. If you put the handle into the fitting in the top cap, you should be able to tighten it so it is locked to the internal drum.
