Hi guys so I called Sirius radio to change billing name on my fusion radio ip600 after reps made changes lost radio its just keeps say acquiring signal . now no radio and reps claim I have a problem with my radio or tuner my question is does anyone know where the tuner is before I start pulling off panels. thanks

If you radio is a Clarion - as it was in mine - the Sirius receiver is behind the radio panel. On mine it was mounted on one of the side walls inside - to the right - mid/lower part. But I would also check the antenna cable - since on mine - the little tiny cable was twisted and had a lot of pressure on from other cables as it was installed from the factory. So it might have broken or become detached. As I keep saying - SR cable installation is always a mess to work with.

To get the radio panel off - the easiest way is to unscrew the cabinet door incl. the hinges - and then just loosen the 4 "covered" screws holding it the panel. I had to loosen the top screw from the door lock latch to have enough room to pull the panel out.

I'm quite far away - but I do have a Clarion Sirius tuner that I'm not using any more. So if we can find a way of getting it to you - you are more than welcome to take it of my hand for $0 plus shipping. :)
 
thanks Kas911 its great to have people so willing to help each other. I will check out in a day or two. strange thing is that the radio will turn on for about two minutes than shut down to aquire signal only on first turn on, also can get reg am and fm stations and yes it is a clarion. just odd it doesn't work after they switched billing.

Have you guys serviced your AC? Mine has started to make a little more noise than I like, and wondering if you've got same. It is cooling fine, but causing a racquet.

About to embark on long trip and wondering what is the most fuel anyone has burned in a single tank before refueling. Manual says only 203 gallons of the 225 maximum capacity are "useable". Is this due to the shape of the tanks or the location of the fuel feed? Leaving from Point Judith and traveling to OB on the Vineyard and then to Nantucket and Hyannis. Would prefer to fill up in Hyannis rather than the other two locations. Fuel is expensive enough on the Cape without adding a ferry run to the transportation cost.

I have the V drive engines and probably will use about 36 gallons per hour if I take it easy and don't fight weather or currents. I'm estimating 165-170 gallons for that run which only leaves me about 30 gallons in reserve if my estimates are correct.

Also, has anyone done a trip from Oak Bluffs to NKT not using the main channel. My Navionics auto routing program drew up a very good route using double the draft of the boat which I set at 5' for guardband purposes. Won't take me near anything less than 10' of water and even then I tweaked the waypoints to give me even more.

I've burned 0.7 MPG in rough seas going to Nantuket and that's with I/O's, so keep in mind that if you hit any rough weather, which is likely, you don't want to be low on fuel. Slowing down to 15 knots and plowing through 4-6 footers against a wind and/or current will burn a lot more fuel that you expect. Just be sure not to fill up on Nantucket at $6.50 a gallon. I would keep not less than 60 gallons in reserve and that is the extreme lower limit with known fuel docks within 20 minutes. Don't trust your gauges. By the way, the most fuel I burned in each tank was ~107 gallons. I was returning from ACK after putting enough fuel into the tanks to get me home, but I did not have operable fuel gauges. I was estimating based on burn rate and time. I pulled into the gas docks in Boston when the low fuel alarm went off. I put ~107 gallons in each tank. Cut it too close.

You can go a little south of the main channel from OB to ACK, but you will be running over patches that are 10 feet deep! I always did in my 330. It is like hitting turbulence on a plane. You'll feel it first then notice your depth gauge. Don't go too far south of the channel. The other problem is you will have more lobster pots. If the seas are rough, you are better off staying closer to the channel. That pass between the islands can get very churned up due to the current and depth. On a flat day, you are fine.

I appreciate your input and advice. Have replotted course from OB to ACK in/near the channel. Looks like some rough seas this weekend. Not sure I am going to go to OB on Saturday if seas are 4 to 7's. Lot of miles in fully loaded boat with those seas. Wish I had a 48 :). Next boat.

I've been out there in 3-5" closely spaced waves in 20-25 knot winds and it is a long slog between the islands, especially heading into the seas. In following seas, not that bad. Certainly, the crew were not enjoying the ride in either case. In those conditions, I needed to run at less than 20 knots, where my happy cruise in the 330 was 30-33 knots. I would not want to be out there in anything over 5'. It is just too exhausting. Especially for the passengers. Last year it was like that with winds out of the west. We left Nantucket to follow friends on their 48. They went straight onto Boston at 20-22 knots. We had to stop and rest once in Plymouth and then again to stay the night in Scituate. The harbormaster could not believe we were out there. The 48 got 0.7 mpg on diesel. We got 0.7 mph on gas going 15 knots. You will love visiting the islands on the 330. It will be rare that you will need to abort a trip in the summer. Watch those lobster pots.

I had noise with the AC from the beginning and it turned out to be some hose that was a bit loose. Repaired it last year but the noise is starting to come back. AC tech said it was "a problem in the way Searay mounts the unit on the boat, not the best design". Go figure.

The Anti Vibration mounts on mine are mounted wrong - but the "base" fibreglass for the a/c is so thin that moving it is a task - so my AC creates a racket too. SR fastened the bolts so hard that the mounts became "vibration mounts - and not anti vibration mounts.
 
Hi All my engines have what I assume are flushing fitting on the right side of each engine I can't find the male adapter on the boat . how does every one use these fittings. been told to just hook hose to it and turn on the water but I would like to know the right way if possible. thanks

Hmm. White hull. 2008. CT. 496 MAG with SeaCore BIII (since the non SeaCore does not come with a fresh water flush). My boat was sold through Russo and went out of state. I thought they said to RI, but did you buy my boat? Anyway, the fresh water flush fitting on top of the engines should receive the end of a garden hose. You screw on the hose and turn on the water. That's it.
 
don't know I brought the boat from a guy in CT but thru marine max. it's name was party of five. so with the flushing just run water no running of the engine.

I believe my adapter was snapped into the flush port. I didn't realize they separated. That's not my boat :( BTW you have a great boat. Solid quality, well engineered, reliable, stylish, practical, durable, and sea worthy. I absolutely loved my 2008 330.
