Official 330/350 (2008 and newer) Thread

Never had any water in the forward bilge area fortunately. I have a bow thruster as well. I get tea colored water in the area just aft of the shower/AC condensation box which I cannot figure out where it comes from as shower box is tight. I don't have a teak floor so color is not from the floor. I had so many of the bow rail hold downs leak that I ended up loosening all the ones I could get to and resealing them. Dramatic reduction in water coming into the boat. Question on your hatch lifts. Was the noise similar to a loud clicking/ticking noise? Never a problem until this spring. Dealer says they are worn and need to be replaced. They are loud and I'm concerned about them letting go as both are making the noise not just one. Would be a nightmare to get that thing open as I looked and one of them look like there is no opportunity for manual release as no access hole nearby.

Re water coming from aft of the AC unit.....I found that my Cruisair unit was tilted aft so instead of the water draining to the hose in the front that leads to the sump pump, it was building in the AC frame and eventually leaking over the aft lip and going God knows where. All it took to fix was a wedge under the AC so that it tilted forward.

After some digging around this past weekend, I think my bilge issue was a slightly loose stanchion on the safety rail. Leaked profusely when sprayed but is now resealed.

My hatch lifts chatter when the actuators are not lubed...sounds like a different issue but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to lube the base so the issue goes away. I could empty a whole canister of grease into the zirks without any result!

Thinking of replacing my built in Electric grill on my 2008 330DA and I see Sea Ray lists a part number 1890106 for the Countertop replacement. Has anyone done this and wondered how hard it is to change? Also, have not found this online, so it must be a direct order through Sea Ray, which I'm guessing will be expensive.

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear. If I choose to use my gas grill instead, I would like to have use of this space as a counter, therefore removing the grill. I not sure how much I will use the electric grill, as I like to cook on the swim platform with my Magna Gas.

Do you have a genny? It's personal preference for sure, but my magma hasn't seen daylight in 4 seasons. The Kenyon grill is one of the things we enjoy most on our boat.

John B. is the connection for your a/c condensate hose, at the shower sump box tight? 2 seasons ago, after commissioning in the spring, I noticed mine was completely detached, and had similar issues as you've described.

Ill second the electric grill. We love our Kenyon. In fact, I recently sold our Magma so it could have a new home.

We want to pick up some spare parts for our 2010 350 and I thought I'd poll the group before shopping around. I was going to turn to my dealer, but wanted to check prices elsewhere first. Any online shopping suggestions?

My first problem is finding all of the correct parts for newer Mercury engines. I have 8.1 Horizons.

Im looking to get the following items:
-Spare oil filters
-Spare belts
-Spare engine impellers
-Spare generator impeller (Kohler 5.0)
-Possibly a spare prop, ours were like new when we pulled it out during the survey last fall

We already have tools and spare oil onboard as well as spare bulbs for nav lights, etc.
Anything else I'm missing?

thanks

Hi guys. I've got a few questions for you...1. I noticed that in my battery breaker panel, there's a position for a second battery charger but the boat only has one. Do any of you have two chargers? I feel like I'm drawing more power from the batteries than one charger can efficiently replenish while on the hook. 2. For someone that has the waste discharge option, can you share some pictures? I'm interested in seeing where the thru hull filling is located and how the hose is run. I'd like to add this option but want it to look factory. 3. Anyone still experiencing trouble with their power bed in the v-berth? Over the weekend, we were on the hook and I couldn't get the bed to go flat. I hear the relay clicking in the control box in the cabinet but no motion in either direction. Any past experiences with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys. Looking forward to your responses.

I have the same problem with my PD2130 charger - it maximum delivers 8-9 amps where it should deliver 30. I think they are crap chargers.

I was afraid of that. I didn't have a DMM when I was out there but I'm heading to the boat later today to do some testing. I did notice that the engines alternators were feeding far more that power than the charger. Maybe it can be repaired???

Well the alternators are supposed to generate up to 65 amp each as far as I remember - so should be more than the PD2130 if that is the charger you have.

But I was not impressed with the design of the charge when I took it apart. I think most likely it will be the power transistors that are burned. They can be replaced for a few dollar each plus labour - so possibly around $150 :) just watch out when you take it out. Despite manually tripping all safety fuses by the battery switches - the charger was still live on one battery bank.

**UPDATE** The bed is repaired. As listed elsewhere on this forum, it was a loose connector on the control unit. As for the batteries/charger issue, I spent some time testing yesterday and am still left scratching my head. All four batteries are new, with the charger on, they are now reading about 11.96V. If I physically disconnect them from the charger, the charger voltage goes up to 13.6V and each battery stays at approx. 11.96V. When I start the engines and rev up to 1500rpm, the battery voltage rises to 14V and the batteries will take a charge this way if I leave the engines running. They will also charge if I add an external battery charger to them. Today I am swapping out the charger to see if that fixes it. If it's not that, I'll have to dig deeper.

What does the charger show in the display? It should show volt and amp's out.

And if you just changed all batteries - check ALL you cable connectors again. Just a little bit of dirt in the contacts and you would get "bad" indication.

As I have said to others - a $50 AC/DC Current Clamp with a DVM is magic on a boat. Just helps your debug procedure so so much.

I agree with you about the DVM and current clamp. It turns out that the charger was bad. While the display shoed the voltage and amperage draw accurately, the charger was not supplying any current to the batteries. The boat is new to me and right from the start I was suspicious of the charger because when I turned on the AC breaker for the charger, the ammeter in the cabin didn't even flinch. Now with the new charger, it jumps up 3 or 4 amps. Th e batteries are now at a healthy level and the new charger is working well. Thanks for the info.
