Official 320 Dancer Thread

I love my 320 but I hate my ER. After winterizing a few weeks ago, I needed to go to physical therapy for my back!

Irie308, Are you planning on changing your impellers yearly?

I had hoped to remove them yearly for inspection and to keep them from taking set over the winter, but I may have to settle for having my Marina change them out every other season.

So what does everyone do with their batteries when winterizing? Take them out, as most recommend, and you have to leave the hatch open all winter, right? I will be shrink wrapping, but would prefer the hatch be closed all winter. What does everyone else do? Is there a way to close the hatch without batteries and easily reopen it in spring?

You need one of these plugged into the power outlet under the steering wheel connected to a spare battery. Or invest in a battery jump pack. It will come with the plug and then you can use it to power your oil change pump.

I never take the batteries out over the winter. You just have to make sure they have a full charge and no dead cells before disconnecting them. They will sit fine over the winter if they are fully charged before the freezing temps set in. For closing the hatch back down, I open the door under the steering wheel to expose the main fuse panel, then attach the pos and neg cables from my 12V booster pack. Closes the hatch without a hitch. In spring...........same method to open.

On mine, the cigarette lighter trick did not work! I simply opened the door under the steering wheel to access the fuse panel and attached the pos & neg cables from the battery jump pack to the main connections on the fuse panel. Worked like a charm!

Hey Just wanted to say thanks for the Tips... Batteries are out, hatch is closed and all is good in my life once again!! I ended up doing the ciggaret trick however the fuse that was in the male plug blew out so I had to mcgiver it... took the blown fuse out cut the prong off of a fork stuck it back to gether and up went the hatch! Nice....

My bateries are in the garage all nice and cozy on a tender... the way they deserve to be, not like these batterie abusers here leaving them to freez in the boat... lol jk. More than one way to skin a cat! Found that you can utilize a single tender to tend all 4 of your batteries. Many advised that htis couldnt be done however according to Delran Batterie tender's Frequently asked questions this is quite possible. You just need to wire them in parrelel... (Connect all the positive leads to eack otehr as well as the tender lead... do the same with the neg's...) Im using a 5amp tender to tend all 4. It took 3 days to go into storage mode. If you store them in the garage dont forget to store on a peice of wood... be it a old wives tale or not id rather not take the chance.

I agree! I have wondered why they made those bolsters in the 320 so big that is covers lots of usable mattress space. I had a custom mattress made that is tempurpedic, wider and much longer because they were able to make the bottom portion fit within the mattress/platform frame, but then it rises over the edge and forward and to the sides., so it works for me and my wife, but still...

Did you go with artisan mattress ? I'm looking to do the same. Just removed bolsters. Tough to determine if I should go with a king or queen and the thickness. Thickness seems like it could offer the most sleeping area due to the angles in the sides.

Let's say I leave them in the boat and connected but turn everything off. Including the main battery switches. And let's say I bring AC shore power to the boat periodically to "keep up" the batteries. What do I need to turn ON to make sure the batteries charge from the AC? Do I turn on the main battery switches? Do I turn on Shore Power on the main panel? Do I turn on the AC Converter breaker? I've never gotten a good understanding (even from RTFM) about how the battery charger is connected and what's in line with it in the circuit to AC.

If I had access to power all winter like you are proposing I would do exactly what you say. I think I would work backwards on your turn ons. I would start with turning on the AC Converter Breaker (I believe that's the charger power button), then I would turn on Shore Power becuase you know you have to have that, then I would turn on each battery switch to see which one controls the battery charging unit. I would then leave it like that. I say again though, as long as the batteries are fully charged and have no bad cells and are disconnected from the system, I have never had a problem. We get down to -20F here and no problems. In the spring I simply hook up as soon as poss and let the on board charger bring all batteries back to normal levels.

I leave my batteries in every year. I make sure I put them away charged and plug the boat into the shore power once a month for a few days. There is no need to turn your battery switches on, make sure you leave them off. Just make sure the a/c breaker is on for the main shore power and the charger.

Thats exactly what I am planning on doing. Thanks! And the charger breaker is the one labeled "AC Conveter", right? In my electrical engineering background, we'd call it the AC/DC converter so I just want to make sure I've got the right stuff turned on.

That's is correct. It's the A/C Converter circuit breaker.

Anyone try to use a Sea Flush funnel to winterize the A/C? Tried but a shop vac wouldnt push and AF thru the system. I lost prime eventually and then lost patience.

I found this on here and gave it a try this year and it worked like a charm; since I had a couple gals of the pink stuff in my fresh water tank from doing all the faucets I hooked up a hose to the wash down faucet in the transom. I then ran the hose to the water outlet on the port side and reverse flushed the ac. It took all of 5 mins.

Looking for some advice I never wanted lol....anyone know how to access the port windshield wiper motor?:smt024

Looks good. I did something similar last year before I sold my 320.

Yep...I stole your three-twenty font and paired it with a dancer badge from a DA450.

definitely looks great. Thought about using one of those dancer badges, just didn't want to pay their price for them.
