Official 320 Dancer Thread

I'm running 6.2's and had to get my Props tweaked went from no cup to a #6 cup and dropped around 200 rpms Im probably going to be looking to drop another 200 next season. I cruse between 21-23 at about 3900 rmp... but if I go wide open I still run right up to 5k... I'm hoping I can pick up a few additional knots Id like to cruse at 24-26 which if I'm not mistaken is where I should be with the 6.2's anyone else out there with the 6.2 v-drives have any input on this?

See the Boat Test results here:

When I launched the boat at the beginning of the season, I was getting close to those numbers, but barnacles on the shafts and rudders have stolen 1 to 2 knots from me. I also switched to 4 blade Acme's , but I don't remember the size/pitch. At 4000 RPM's I am now at 23.8 knots with about 33 gallons per hour, when I launched I saw 24.7 knots and 30 gallons per hour.

Doesn't sound like you did anything wrong, sounds like the blowers may have failed or more likely you pulled a wire out while you were doing maintenance. Retrace the work you did - navigating around the engine compartment of a 320 takes some practice to learn where to step / not step.

That's the odd thing. None of my maintenance was in the hatch. I did bulbs above, stickers, etc. Never got near the blowers or engines.

Would both blowers die at the same time? I can't accept that. The breakers for them are separate (and in the ignition protected breaker box that I'm not supposed to open) so they couldn't both have tripped. Something simple, I fear. Oh, and its now the next day and they still won't turn on. A thermal breaker would have reset by now. Help!

Found it. It was the Blower 1 breaker in the breaker panel in the engine hatch. It popped. I reset it and it worked fine. For a while. Then popped again. It won't run more than about a minute without popping. Oddly, when I reset it, BOTH blowers run. When it pops BOTH blowers stop. Blower 2 breaker doesn't pop. The dealer (MarineMax) replaced a blower before I got the boat. EACH blower requires a 4A or 5A fuse. It appears they are both wires to a single 6A breaker. No wonder it keeps popping!

HELP!! I opened my sea strainers for the motors for the first time and found that one is COMPLETELY missing the strainer basket!! The part number is starting to wear off so I am having trouble narrowing down my search. Looks like GROCO part ARG-12xx S. I see ARG-1210 and ARG-1250 but nothing ending in "S" on the interwebs. Its the starboard strainer which is right under the breaker panel. I tried sticking the port side basket in but the starboard strainer but it hits the breaker panel. I am guessing SOMEONE was too lazy to loosen the panel enough to sneak the basket by so they just left it out!

Anyone know what model GROCO is used for the motor raw water intake??View attachment 42000

I will be at the boat in next 24 hrs and will try to take a picture of someone does not get there befor3 me.

So I've searched the forum for dash panel and such but to no avail. So my question:

Where can I get pieces of star board or whatever that plastic is that is used as the gauge background on the dash? It's faux wood grain looking. I'm replacing my Raymarine 251 VHF with a radio that will use a different cut out (prob Std Hor 1600) and I want to use that same wood like background behind it. BTW its the lowest dash space on the port side of the dash. It's about 11" wide by 7" high.

Nice! That's my Plan B (black starboard). I think it looks good! Obviously the wood grain to match would be ideal, but thanks for the pic! That looks great!

I came across a Raymarine C80 chart plotter. Has anyone with a 320 installed one of these units? It looks to be a little bit to large to fit in the panel at the middle of the dash. It also seems to large to fit of to the port side of the dash too.

If you were able to make it fit somewhere let me know.

I had an E80, same size, on my 320.

Here is a better view showing the fit of the E80. As you can see it fit the width perfectly and leaves a little bit of room on top and bottom.

Greg - do you know if the E80 and C80 are a straight swap out electronically or do the radar and transducers need to be changed out?

I do not know those answers, as my 320 we had already had this equipment from the previous owner. From the little I have seen of the connections of both the C80 and E80, I would lean towards saying yes, but would definitely research more.

Hello I am new to the site. I have a 2004 320 sundancer and I am have a problem getting my dockside cable or my Glomex to show anything on the bulkhead TV. If I hook it direct to the tv from the dock I get it to work. I call sea Ray and they said there is a splitter by the distribution panel. But I could not find one any where. Any thoughts. Thanks.
