Official 320 Dancer Thread

I suggest you open a new thread describing the vibration issue. Some very experienced folks may not read 320 thread. Thus, i think you have much better chance to get some good responses in the separate thread.

Well my Nautley slide on davit system arrived and it is now installed. Not a big deal...everything went fine...but how on earth do you guys strap down the dinghy on this thing?...im very puzzled....thanks for the anticpated help from the cavalry...Ed:huh:

Hey Ed I drilled 2 holes on the tip of each lifting arm and put a rope through it. I use that rope to swing over the back of the dinghy and then tie it to the rear cleats on each side. That keeps it in place pretty nicely. I also use straps that hook to the eye hooks on each side of the swim platform. This keeps it from moving side to side. With the Nautley davits, i leave the outboard right on the dinghy which makes it so convenient. Just be careful the swim platform is dry and wear good shoes when you haul the thing onto the lifting arms. Slipping and falling onto the swim platform while pulling the dinghy up on the davits makes for a very sore and bruised posterior. Ask me how i know... :)

Nautley sells a Stainless steel tie down system with some Folding Pad Eyes. You might want to go that route.

My boat came with out the port hole screens. I am out of town for a while and cant get to my boat to measure the openings. If any of you 320 owners are out at the boat today/tonight would you mind checking the length and height of the screens so I can order a set?

Aaron

The boat is being detailed today!:smt038 Should be finished up around lunch tomorrow. Can't wait to see it after the polish and wax. I'll post up the first pictures of her tomorrow night sometime. :smt024

You are getting some picture - so you don't need a converter box - because analog is turned off. I am wondering if you need to tie into your TV Amplifier switch to make everything work. What is the signal strength on the channels you are getting? Post some pics of your install. I am anxious to see it.

Mine came without screens too. Just call the Searay dealer in St. Clair Shores (Colony (586) 772-3331) and they will order them for you.

I would like to strap on a cooler on the swim platform. I did get the answer from my other post, BUT i bought a bigger cooler than they recommend. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!! Can I use bunge cords and starp it to the swim platform thru the middle holes where it says "Sea Ray"??? In the middle of the swim platform there is holes, is it a one solid piece of the swim platform or is it in 2 ? Any pictures would be GREAT!!!!!

I'm not sure if you want to have it permanetly installed, b/c WM sells special brackets for it. You screw the brackets to the platform and secure the cooler to the brackets. As a temp solution, I'm sure it's all doable, just keep in mind that the mid part you're descibing is nothing but a small piece which is attached in place via small screwses from the bottom to the platform. I wouldn't put to much pressure (like a big cooler) on this part. But, if you go thru the holes and around under the platform where the cords will be attached to the platform and not the middle part, then it's a different story.

Lighting Question :smt100 In order for the lights in the head to work I have to turn on the cabin light switch on the left as you go down the steps. Is this normal? If someone has to get up in the night to use the potty it wakes everyone up.:smt013

Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff, you just discovered one of the most annoying design features of the 320. Most people (and dealers) solve this by putting a separate switch on the overhead lights so that they can be turned off independently. I have the switch, but have not done the install yet. Summer project. I'm sure someone will chime in with their approach.

Skolbe-

If the check book is still out here are a couple of ideas we did that might interest you.
I took the Fridge door inserts out and had them made in brushed stainless. It looks great next to that stainless microwave and just as good on the back deck. I liked the coment " Oh- you have the upgraded Hi-end fridge " The Admiral loved that!

We also put a rod holder on the transome locker door and put a Newport gas grill out back. Great for hanging out on the swim platform cooking dinner. The grill will fit well in the locker too.

We ordered a Taylor Made FastBack camper top for early spring and fall ( Hunter green ). Works just as advertised. Easy to install and has great window screens for good air flow.

I also upgraded the Speakers in the arch to the factory Polk's, put in Four s.s rod holders , and added an HDTV reciever for the flat screens.

We bought new in winter too. The days will fly by.

Mike
Doesn't the Newport Grill get hot? I am thinking of doing the same (on the transome locker door) but I am afraid that the lid would burn the cushions.
Thanks

:huh:Cranked up the generator for the first time this yr. No problems except that when I switched from shore to the geny there's no power. What am I forgetting?

Breaker on the generator is most likely off - it is easy to bump in the bilge.

I don't have this problem, but I'm sure our setup is similar. I flip both main swithces ON (by the entry gangway). The night light stays ON all night long, but the other light I turn OFF with the switch by the galley. This approach works fine, b/c the main light power remains ON and anyone who needs to use head will have the light only in the head. I don't know if others have some kind of different setup than mine, but everytime I hear about this I don't understand why is it a big deal to work with these kind of 3-way switches?

Hope this helps.

Some folks have rewired their bathroom light to the fan switch. I installed nice LED lights where the cheap plastic lights are over the bulkhead in the cabin. They are less bright than the halogen lights.
