Official 320 Dancer Thread

The middle switch with the squiggle on it is the depthsounder on my boat which is equipped with Smartcraft and a Raymarine C80 chartplotter. I tested it last week with everything on and the depthsounder display would go on and off which is how I figured out what it was for.

When looking at 320's, I was told the squiggles button was the water pump as well. Assume this is not raw or cooling water, but fresh faucet water.

That sounds like they have your DSM power hooked up.

This is strange that the instruction don't mention any recommendation on preferred method to control the power source (switch or no switch). So, we end up with having items like GPS and DSM constantly working until the battery switch is turned off, but not everyone is even doing that.

I may do similar like yours and hook up my DSM30 along with the ST60 on the same switch. This way I'll be able to turn them on when needed.

Okay gentlemen (and women) here is the question...I just purchased a Nautley "dinghyramp" davit system for my 2006 320 dancer with 350 V Drives....I tis a major investment....My dink is 8.5 feet long, weighs about 70 lbs and the 3.5 merc outboard weighs in at 41 lbs...what do you think? The good the bad and the ugly...thanks..Ed

I have the same setup on my 320 and it works great. My dinghy is about 80 pounds and I have a 6 hp merc that is about 55 lbs. I can handle the dinghy with the motor attached by myself and have taken it on a few trips to Bimini without any problems.

I have the same setup and i love it. My RIB and 9.9 hp outboard weigh just over 200 lbs and it makes it easy to haul onto the davits and secure with either ratcheting tie downs or lines i loop around the dinghy. Ive been in some really snotty weather with it and it stays nice and secure on the swim platform. No need to remove the engine. Love it!

1 word of caution though: make sure your swim platform is dry or you are wearing good shoes when you go to haul the dinghy up on the davits. Last summer, i was a little careless and tried hauling the dinghy up on the davits with bare feet and a wet platform. My feet went out from under me and i landed on my hip. I was lucky to not break my leg/hip and just ended up with a real ugly black and blue.

How often does your head cycle when the head system is on? It seems mine is cycling every few minutes. There is pleanty of water in the bowl so I am thinking the seal needs to be replaced as it may not be air tight. Any feedback is welcome...thanks!

Mine doesn't cycle unless it is flushed. Something is caught in your duck bill valves or a fitting is loose/leaking - Since you stated the bowl is holding water that side sounds fine.

Sounds like your seal is leaking. Before replacing try clean the seal well and lubricate it. It worked many times for me.

Thanks for the good news...i'm awaiting shipment...Ed

Great news and better advice...thanks for getting back..Ed

We just spent our first night ever at a marina:smt038everyone made it through the night even the dog didn't whine.

The only problem I had is there is a vent on the forward side of the tv compartment and the fan blows air on us while sleeping in the forward berth. The fan runs all the time on heat or cool, we turned it to manual, even on low it blasts out the air.

Has anyone made a cover for the vent that deverts the air down or up?

Jeff

Congrats on your first night on the boat. I sleep on the other side and the wife has never complained about the vent. I like the Green Canvas.

Go to West Marine and they have exactly what you need. You will need to buy one of their coolers that is able to use a stainless attachment arm.

The attachement kit comes with two flush mounting mounts, 2 stainless adjustment rods and 2 eye hooks. It works flawlessly.

When you do not need the cooler on the swim platform just remove the eyelets and you have a flush mount that will not interfer with anything.

Azure,

Welcome aboard. While you're waiting for responses to do side to side test here're my stats from last fall right before she was winterized.

WOT Stats: 2 adults, full water, 1/3 fuel, very calm bay.

PORT engine: 4960RPM, 21.7GPH.
STBD engine: 4880RPM, 21.5GPH.
max speed 31.6knots (36.3MPH).

:smt100Sea Ray 320DA twin 350MAGS, V drives, 200hrs, we are experiencing a vibration on the starboard side between 1500 and 4000 rpm, shaft alignment checked and is good, cutlass bearings replaced, props scanned and balanced, vibration still exists, port side is completly smooth, replaced 3 blade props with new 4 blade wheels vibration subsided slightly but still exists, reinstalled 3 blade wheels installed new woodruff keys, still vibration, there is also a split of 100RPM and a fuel burn of 1 GPH difference between motors, compression check good on both motors, new spark plugs, still vibration, very frustrating, please respond if you have experienced a similer issue and can give some insight on what the problem might be. Thank You
