Official 320 Dancer Thread

I take credit cards and paypal

Thanks to all of you guys. You saved me $1000. The prop matrix on the Sea Ray site does not list the 18.5 prop. It looks like I have the stock props and I just need to have them scanned and tuned.

My debt to this board grows.

Scott

Scott,
This is exactly why I add CSR to the list of reasons why I should by a Sea Ray vs. others on the market.

I'm sure that you'll have much more savings from the board underway

Enjoy and happy holidays.

Alex.

Currently negotiating on a new 320 a used 340 and a used 310. Leaning toward the new 320. Share the good bad and the ugly.

What would you change on the 320? Any regrets?

I don't have that much experience with the boat, but off the top of my head, the engine room is very crowded. You end up laying on the top of the engines to get at anything. I think the 310 is about the same. The 340 is more spacious in the bilge.

Otherwise, I love the size and amenities. It is the perfect combination for me and my family.

No regrets with my decision. However - I did pass up a good deal on 01 - 340 - in lieu of the new 320. The bilge is tight. I don't think I would have been happy with the 310. The island berth was a requirement for me.

Reverso Install in a 320

Have any of you 320 owners installed a reverso (or similar) system for either engine or transmission oil change? Am interested in learning how difficult it was to get to the oil pan in the tight bilge of the 320, and also where you mounted the pump and how you routed the hoses. Thanks.

Trailering

I bought my 320 two years ago and my family is happy with the boat. Unfortunately we lone for the days of trailering so at the end of last season I bought a shoreland'r aluminum trailer (SLB150TAL) to be able to move it around. I took my boat into a local Searay dealer for winterization and I had a minor problem. I had a lot of trouble getting the boat on the trailer correctly. I really had to put a lot of the trailer in the water to get the bow to the mast of the trailer. Does anyone else trailer their boats and have you had any issues?

I know that BOLTMAN (board member) trailers his 320DA. May be he can give some tips.

When I just got my 240DA and bought trailer separatelly I had to make adjustments to make it fit correctly. I had to move rollers and vertical beem (don't recall all proper terminology) where the winch sits on.

It's very hard to give you some suggestion without more details and pictures, but it sounds like one of the options is to move the vertical beem back to shift the weight more to the stern. However, whatever adjustments you'll be making make sure to maintain proper weight on the ball. It's best if professional trailer place would help you adjust it properly.

Have you approached your local dealer about this?

Captain Morgan,

You may need to adjust the bunks and/or bow stop. When properly set up, you should have no problem getting the boat on the trailer.

Any suggestions on installing a tv on the wall before the mid-aft. Ideas, regrets, photos.

Anyone have any info on installing a flat screen to the wall at the mid-aft?

You're talking about the bulkhead on the right as you walk down the stairs? I installed a 26" HDTV LCD and it works great. If you PM me with your email, I'll dig up some photos for you.

2K from dealer I purchased the boat from. Doesn't look like a big job. Where to run power is my only drawback.

Re: Official 320 Dancer Thread - Camper Costs

I'm looking at doing a camper this winter on the 320. I have a price of $5600 for the camper and replacement of the front isenglass with strataglass. No framing yet in place, so everything needs to be provided. What have others paid for a similar job?

Thanks,
Scott

You can get the TaylorMade Fastback camper enclosure for $2200 right now. $5600 seems way high even for the camper and the replacements up front.

Thanks, but I'm not a fan of the fastback look. Anyone got recent prices or experience on a camper install on a 320 or similar?

Do you just call Taylor Made to get this price?

I am looking at a few boats, including the 320DA, likely something in the 2005-2007 range. Four Winns and Chaparral are the others.

I love just about everything on the 320DA except the lack of a walkthrough windshield. I've owned 3 boats to this point, all with walktrhoughs, and I am having trouble imagining life without.

Will I miss it? How difficult is it to use the walk around?

Thanks, John

Hi John,

I have a 2005 320 and take the boat out by myself a lot and while the walkthru would be a great addition (which they now have standard on the new 310, 330 and 350 models), I have not found it a problem not having it. The walk-around areas are easy to manage and like anything new, once you get used to it, it will be second nature.

If you search the Modification site, there will be several pics of my installation of my 26" and I installed a Sony Bravia Mini Disk system that rocks......speakers are as small as a golf ball.
