Craig,
I thought I was happy with my screen until I saw yours. I think I have some more work to do!

I hadn’t considered the 903 but I’m happy with the big difference the 703 has over SC5000 I replaced.Thats a nice unit you have there. There are a zillion different ways to configure the screens. I just upgraded to a 903 display I found on ebay. 502 was to small for these old eyes.
It’s definitely not prop tuning. I just had my props redone, and it’s the same, maybe a bit worse. The WOT on both is much closer. 4900 STBD, 4620 port, 22.1gph, 21.4 port, so that’s not bad. But at matching RPMs, or slightly less for port, then I’m off by 1-2 gph all the time, regardless of sea conditions. 3900/3850, 13.4/15.1 gph, stbd/port respectively. I can make the fuel burn the same by offsetting the RPMs, the boat seems to drive fine, but the tech was even more skeptical of the RPMs being underreported on the port.I added fuel burn to my VV703 screen last week and saw that my STBD engine was burning 17 GPH and Port 15 heading out and coming back STBD 19 and Port 15.2. I spoke to me mechanic and he said that no two engines burn at the same rate and a lot has to do with trim and sea conditions. I had the the boat trimmed out and and you can see by my rudder indicator at the bottom of my screen that my wheel was turned and I was going straight so what he said made sense. I ran the boat this past Saturday paying attention to how I used the trim tabs and my fuel burn was within about 0.5 GPH from STBD to Port with STBD always higher. My mechanic also said because the v-drives turn in opposite directions has some effect on fuel burn. My WOT is within 80 RPM’s of each other. Could be your props need tuning. All my numbers are based on my 8.1’s. Hope it helps.

Mine are always within a gallon or so of each other depending on sea conditions. My numbers improved notably when I changed plugs & wires. It’s definitely not prop tuning. Plugs have definitely been changed, and caps and rotors, if I recall correctly. No change. Not sure about the wires.Mine are always within a gallon or so of each other depending on sea conditions. My numbers improved notably when I changed plugs & wires.
I have vdrives and a generator. To get on plane I go to 3800 with tabs down and then I roll back slowly and Im pretty sure i could stay on plane at 3100 maybe 3200. trimmed up during throttle back. I was at 21gph at 15-17knts. I will double check that this weekend. At least Im in the ball park. I have the original smartcraft monitor. That doesn't sound right to me. I have the 05 320 with 350 mags v drive and similar to Todd there is no way I could plane at 3100 rpm. I added the drop fins on my tabs and can now get down to maybe 3600 and stay nicely trimmed on plane. Do you have a gen set at the aft end of the engine room? Might not be an efficient speed for you boat, you may be plowing water a bit. I would try 3600 bottom up to 3800. See what your speed / consumption is. I'm easily 21+ @ no more than 25gph ever at that speed rpm combo. Generally never less than 1/2 gas
Agreed on the bigger screens being easier on the eyes. I didn’t think I’d like having the controls on the side but they are convenient although given a choice I would take a bigger screen instead.Makes a huge difference in visibility for me. No more squinting.

Here is what mine looks like. Probably the exact way it came off the showroom floor in 2006. Wondering if I can upgrade to yours or am I too many generations past??Thanks. Did it all myself. Not hard just time consuming.
Here is what mine looks like. I am sure I had trim tabs fully down but it does look different. I don't have any water washing up or in to my boat and/or bilge. If you guys see anything that looks wrong here let me know. Here is what my wake looks like, this was a smooth day. I usually go 21-22 knots...

I had Northstar electronics, and I upgraded to Simrad. But it was a ton of work. I did 4G Radar, Simrad NSS EVO 3, P79 transducer, and connected it to a new NMEA2k network, and re used an old Heading Sensor via an NMEA0183 to NMEA2k adapter. Used NMEA0183 to connect the Simrad to the VHF and old Smartcraft 5000. Finally, added in vessel view mobile instead of replacing the SC 5000, and I had the screen replaced on the SC5000 as a backup. Here is what mine looks like. Question to the group... I have 350Mg V Drives. Port engine is fine and will wind up to 4800 RPM no issues. Starboard engine is only getting to about 3600/3700 RPM. I have some exhaust stain on the side of the boat but not too bad. New plugs, Cap and rotor. Gas is fresh and we use 90 grade no corn at our marina. Can someone point me in the direction on what we might look for. We had it on the computer on Thursday and did not see anything out of the normal. sitting in the slip the engine revs up fine and does not miss...
Does removing the cockpit shower head give you access? Seems like when I replaced my shower head, i could see the back side of the water inlet...Hello, i have a leak behind the panel in the trunk where u connect the dock water. It may have cracked over winter. I removed 4 screws holding the panel but it will not move far enough to even see whats back there. Do i have to remove all the other things mounted to that panel. I mean it went in somehow? There's no acces from engine room either. The good thing it doesnt run in to bilge just out the back. Or maybe the rear seat has to come out
