Official 240 Sundancer Thread

are the cushions your looking to move from the first pic none quilted ? by the way the upgraded interior is awsome looks way more comfortable

Yes the first pic. I have 2 sets of those. The Brown one. All 2007 and up use that material. Shoot me a PM if interested. I see you are in NJ as well.

I have a shore power question. When the boat is at dock, and the shore power cord is plugged in, and no one is at the boat, should the main breaker switch be on or off? Maybe a stupid question but this is my first boat with shore power. Thanks alot.

The manual on my 2000 says to keep it on at all times when on shore power. It charges the batteries

I turn it off before unplugging the shore power.

Mainbreaker should be on with the switch on for the batt charger. I will leave the fridge on when I need it to but all other breakers are off and the battery switch is on none also.

Island,

I had my boat redone at the begining of this year by SeaRay due to all the issue I had with the boat lastyear. SeaRay tried to make it right and has paid upgraded many thing on my boat. They sent 2 sets of interior cushions for my boat. Hence why I have 2. But below is the interior that i had. The backing were the same color as the cushions on mine.

Ah, ok makes sense now. haha

Tom, try your wiper button and see if the water pump then works. Maybe they simply were crossed somehow. The Switch cluster is wired and sealed but somehow the wires may have been crossed at the ECM behind the helm.

I tried that and the wiper goes on with both buttons, any idea or direction on how to get the pump to work or how to trouble shoot the wirers?

Thanks so much also if you want to private message me it might be easier to discuss

I have a question about my fresh water. Mainly how does it work? I don't see any switches on the boat to turn it on and off. Also, what's the process on fill the tank? Thanks for the help.

George

George,

You should have a fill opening that you can put a hose to fill your fresh water tank. As far as filling it I just put my hose in turn it on and wait till water is coming out of the fill hole which is on the bow port side of my boat. From there you should have a Fresh water pump that pressures your fresh water lines to your head/sinks/transom shower if equipped. To turn on the pump on my 240 I have a switch on the breaker panel that needs to be switched on that works off the battery power.

You have a pic of your breaker panel?

I have a button on the dash ( near the light switches and blower etc) that turns the water system on, but it works whether it is on or not ?? But if you are having problems, maybe this switch us thrown.

Just bought a 2007 240 sundancer and I would like to change the 240 number plate on the sides of the boat .does anybody know where I can buy them? Thanks

question - I have "borrowed" a 2007 240 Sundancer :) and are slowly fixing things here and there "in return"

I have fixed a lot of things - and now I'm down to fixing the A/C. But where is the Darn thing hiding? Or rather - where can one access it for maintenance? It is somewhere between the bathroom and engine room on the starboard side. But how do you access it?

George,
There's a white switch next on the left side of the countertop inside the cabin. It should say water on it. Still learning our 240 as well...trying to figure out how to get the radio out.

Not sure for your year, but I think if you remove the cover on the return in the aft cabin, the unit shoild be right there.

I was thinking about making the trip the AC for the airshow. Can anyone tell me how long it will take me to get there from the Waretown/Barnegat area. I was most likely gonna take the intercoastal down. Thanks

Today while boating ( in my2000 240 w/ 5.7 mercruiser) I overheated.

Normally she runs solidly at 170-180 degrees and never fluctuates.

I was cruising just over 3000 rpms when i heard the alarm and immediately powered down. Could I have sucked something into the intake?

After about a half hour I headed back to the marina and the temp was fluctuating but the alarm didn't sound. I didn't push her so hard on the way back and she sounded a little rough in the low 2000 Rpms

Any idea what could be happening?

It was clear waters ( as far as I could see) and plenty of water below me. Don't think I hit anything but anything is possible.
