Yes, took the cushions that were there home, and laid out in the living room. Cut the topper to fit, and just use the same sheets we use already... didn't bother w a second wrapping.

Does it interfere with the cabinet door to the right? I believe it's the one that acts as a half-closet.

Does anyone know the best foam top to put on top of the current mattress? It's entirely too hard, and after losing power at my house last weekend, I resorted to the boat. After 3 nights, my back is that of an 80 year old. What do you guys suggest to put on top? or possibly completely replace the mattress itself? I just can't sleep on that anymore.. it's hard as a rock. It would obviously have to be carved out to fit, so nothing extravagant.

We have the memory foam topper from Sam's Club. Yes, we had it cut to fit and we had a cover made out of the same fabric that are on the cushions in the vberth. We also then had a custom sheet made by the same woman who made the fabric cover. We provided a king (or maybe a queen) flat sheet.

I'll have to do that. What brand foam topper did you use? Some are either really cheap, or really expensive.. there's no in between. Can't determine if I should spend the extra bucks or not?

kochwebb, I got my sender in and left it in my boat and went to TN. for the weekend. When I returned Sunday night my dock neighbor (he is also my mechanic) had it installed. Unfortunately, we had cold and rainy weather over the weekend and he was bored on his boat. he said it took a little twisting and turning but all in all was not too bad of a job. he did not take the tank out.

Yeah, I replaced both mine with relative ease. The port side was a bit of a challenge as it's under the floor panel, but it was still doable. Nice knowing how much fuel I have now!

I bought a 2-1/2" memory gel/foam mattress top from Costco (queen size) and cut to fit and placed on top of the original mattress. I think it was around $150 and it is super comfortable, well worth it.

I've been looking at mattress toppers as well, but they are all too short. The longest dimension on the v-berth is 88", and the mid-cabin is 82", but the longest stock size I can find for a topper is 78".

Is everyone leaving them short, or are you joining sections together somehow? I would hate to have to custom order one just to match the length.

If you have the 1998 vberth, you'll need a king size. Use a small piece of what you cut off for the smaller area by the port side locker. Remember, 99-02 vberth is quite different..

I want to change my drinking freshwater pump to something more smooth and silent but my boat is far from here and I wont go till a couple of week. My question anyone with a 1998 could tell me what pump is there and what amp is the original breaker so I could do a direct swap as I don't want to play with relay. I did my research and only read good thing about this one http://www.rvupgradestore.com/ES-Effiecient-Series-Water-Pump-p/aquajetes.htm?CartID=1
ES model is variable with 3.4 gpm and 6.5 amp max it also seem to be very reliable and most of all probably the most silent pump

Check parts manual. Page 28. http://www.searay.com/boat_graphics/electronic_brochure/Company1729/1C1_24_74DEIPR3TAP.pdf Its a surflow 2.8GPM

Thank paul it is direct replacement I was blind, I look in the manual before ask but could find the dam pump.

Seem like this pump is only for RV Im out of luck with this one I have diesel but the battery are just under the pump so I will choose someting else
Safety Tips:
1. Never operate the pump in an atmosphere where flammable gases may be present, since arcingat the motor brushes or switch contacts may cause an explosion.

Thought I would post my latest upgrades to my 1998 310. After reading a review here last winter on a central vacuum system I bought one in Dec. here is the install and I can tell you that I am very happy with the quality and suction of this unit. I installed it in the locker door next to the sink. I still have use of the locker as the unit is only about 6" deep. Hose will reach though the complete boat. View attachment 30531 I also made a new aft table and completed this project but need a shorter leg as neither me or the wife are very tall. (another post about the leg) I need a 24-26" overall length leg. Anybody have one to sell? View attachment 30532 Bob

What vacuum is that? I'd really like to install a central unit.
