Official (1998-2002) 310 Sundancer Thread

I have to replace my batteries on my 2000 310 but I am not near my boat. Does anyone happen to know what size I need to get?

Thanks!

When I come off the throtle slowly and let the boat settle down slowly my boat's temp tends to spike. There has been a few times my alarm has even come on. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Sometimes temp is not affected but one engine will stall out.

View attachment 20832Vita. Sound like your impellers are most likely worn. If they have not been changed this could be the problem. At slower speeds they do not bring in the required volume / flow to reduce the temperture variation. I would also check the transmission heat exchanger which could be restricting flow within the cooling system. Another area to check a sticky thermostat that get stuck at one point or another. This occur with a small block I had in the past. Hope you find the problem.

We just put in an offer on a '98 Sea Ray 310 Sundancer. Sea trial and survey on Saturday!!! First boat purchaser!!!!

That's the same as my ride. Interested in hearing more about the deal and condition of the boat. I love the cabin layout in the 98.

Vida. Love your cantilevered shade top. No aft support poles. Is this part of a camper top or just additional shade. Would like to see more details of the frame. Assume it's custom locally made.

Has anyone gotten rid of the horrid gold cabinet latches and trim in their Sea Ray 310? Where did you find the parts? Pictures?

The gold does not really bother me enough to change all the knobs ( and these are rather pricey). I replaced a few of mine that looked worn or corroded. About $25 ea. I have only seen them in the brass or nickel finishes.

The trim is easy and not very expensive. I had ordered some from a sea ray dealer and it was direct shipped from Outwater plastics. You can easily order direct. Here is an example of the extensions for the trim. Just check you size requirements.

I have researched this and will be changing out the knobs and rosettes on the latches. No need to change the whole latch, if it works properly. As for the trim, I just removed the gold trim and did not replace. Looks fine.

Has anyone ever replaced their hot water tank pressure release valve? I found a lot of threads about this. Just looking for any additional recommendations?

Hey all.... Brand new 99 310 owner just this past week. This is great site!!!
I have a few questions:

Best place to get engine parts, carpet replacement?
We chose to buy a boat that had spent some time in salt, but was most recently in fresh water. Are there any maintenance items we should do for the salt exposure in the past?
We plan on using in only fresh water in MN

Starboard motor runs out of throttle on the lever at 3900rpm while the port motor goes to 4150. Is this rigging or throttle adjustment?

Thanks guys for the help. If this is the wrong spot to post this please redirect me of the correct location

I got a prop question: What is the "standard" size of a 2001 310 propeller. I went over a ledge at low tide last night and it seems either one of both props are bend. It starts vibrating pretty bad around 2400RPM, primarily the port side. Do you know what the cost for a new prop is? I will get under the boat tomorrow to assess how much they are bend.:smt021

thank you

Anybody have the wiring diagram for a 1998 310. I have V-Drives if it matters. I'm trying to utilize the "blank" accessory breaker and helm switch locations. I found the wiring between the breaker (under the cockpit sink with the battery switches) and the switch at the helm (far right). The wires are marked "121". What I don't know - is where the wire goes after the switch. Could have sworn I had a wiring diagram but can't find it.

Thanks!

View attachment 21099George2064. On my boat I have 16 X 15 if they are just bent, they can be repaired for about $150 to $200 dollars this should include repair, balance and clean up. You have to use a special tool to remove them, this can be optained on loan with the prop repair shop. If your going to remove them yourself make sure you leave one of the nuts on the shaft since the prop pop's back pretty hard as its comes off and you don't want to get hit by them. It will add more cost to the project ! Lot's of luck.

Can you lock the cabin door from the inside on a 2000 310 sundancer? I see a slide type button with a red dot on the inside latch of the door. what is that for. Thanks.

That slide unlocks the door. The door has to be locked from the outside then closed. That locks everyone out. You then use the slide lock to get out
