Official 1980's Weekender/Sundancer 300 thread

My fillers fit nicely under the forward bench seat for the dinette and still have room for the sheets and pillows. Only things I store on the shelves are a few books and the TV remotes

I have drawers under the forward bench seat and a small compartment behind if I take off the seat bottom. I guess I could store the small cushions there but I'd still have the two long fillers to store. My AC is under the aft bench seat area, where is your AC located? It seems Sea Ray had several different mounting spots for AC and vaccuums etc depending on configuration of options chosen.

Sorry I meant the aft seat. My A/C pump is under the same seat but in a lower compartment that is covered. The A/C unit is under the forward berth. I wish I had a vacuum system

I don't think they add any strength to the hull.

Defender has the Dirt Devil vac system that I think is better then anything you can get for home. The suction is incredible! I plan on putting one in at some point.

+1 to what Speakerdude said. BTW I have a nice, simple Jabsco manual head, no motors, no vaccuum pumps, and no duckbills. KISS really applies to MSD's!
To quote Scotty from Star Trek III "The more engineers overtake the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain".

Where did you get the carpet. It does look great and I want to install in my 340 EC. Thanks,

The carpet was indoor/outdoor carpet purchased from Home Depot. Still looked great when we sold her.

My 88 Sundancer has a pick-up in the aft cabin under the cushion on the starboard side for the head water.

It's a small opening in the underside of the hull that allows water to enter into a seacock (water valve) and a strainer, then onto whatever the water is to supply. You should know where every seacock on the boat is, how it works, and what it supplies.

Any idea what size the grey water lines are on the fresh water system in our boats? I have a mish/mosh of fittings and lines to the water heater.

I have the manual head too, and that's where mine picks up water for the head from.
I keep it closed though. I exercise it once before the boat goes in, and again when it comes out, just to keep it working.
Instead of drawing water from outside the boat for my manual head, I use the handheld shower to fill the bowl when needed. No stink that way. Head always smells fresh.
It also ensures a more rapid turnover of the water in the freshwater tank, so it kills two birds with one stone.
I had considered tapping in to the fresh water line with a tee and valve, and then feeding it in to a "Y" type valve, and feeding the other side of the "Y" valve with the raw water so I could choose between fresh and raw water to feed the head, but it was just too many connections and possibilities for leaks down the road.
Decided to keep it simple instead and just use the handheld shower.

What is a pick up?

The through hull fitting with a strainer and a shut off valve.

Does anyone know how to remove the main switch panel on a 300DA? I have new back lights to install for the switches but its hard to work upside down in that small space. I assume the padded area around the switches is screwed in from behind the helm. I can't seem to find the screws on the port most end of the thing. Are they hidden by something? I'd love to finish this job with the panel in an easy to work on position.

I have a 1986 300 weekender looking for breaker or fuse for head macerator. Head is not working looking to track down the cause worked fine at beginning of this year think a fuse blew any help on locating it them greatly appreciated.
Thanks Marty

Mine is in the VHF cabinet under the helm, look for three black boxes my fuse is in the center box. Good luck
