Official 1980's Weekender/Sundancer 300 thread

And sometimes its the bow rail stancions that need resealing.

Thanks guys I will check both areas good this weekend hopefully weather here in Michigan gives us a break

I'm not sure if this is allowed here but here goes. If it needs removed please do so.

There is a '87 Sundancer 300 for sale in my area and it is very clean and well taken care of. I looked at it last year before buying the '88 that I have now. It is on CL under Nashville, Tn and they guy has it listed at $11,500. Makes me mad in a way cause I paid well over that for the one I got last year. If anyone wants to check it out here is the link. By the way I do not know this gentlemen at all. Just passing along a sale I noticed that looks like a bargin. http://nashville.craigslist.org/boa/4428069822.html

I like the flooring but I already have a 300WE, looking for a 400 now

Looks like a nice boat. Probably original motors, but well worth it to re-power.

Getting ready to "GULP" drill a hole into the hull for a water pickup for the ac. Any advice?

I have a question on thu hull fittings for all of you. I really want to change the plastic thru hull fittings that are at the rear of the boat with SS or bronze fittings. The ones up the side are easy you can change them in the water. I don't think I can change them unless I either pull the motors or empty the gas tanks on each side and slide the tank ahead a few feet. I could be wrong and you just need a really small person to wiggle into that spot but I know I can't get in there and I'm only 180lbs. Anyone change these 25 + year old plastic fittings.

Ken, I can't figure out how to change them without pulling an engine. I'm about your size and bless me if I can contort my frame into that area. I'd love to change mine since they are getting ugly stains in the lumen that won't clean up with anything I've tried including bleach, Spray Nine and hull cleaner. I'd like to go stainless steel if I ever get access to them.

I figure they are way past their useful life, either at fall haul out of next spring I will pull the engines or maybe try moving the fuel tanks ahead.

Ken for now as you clean them try something called IronOut. You can get it from Ace Hardware if you have one up your way. It will remove the stains

I will give that a try.

Hi. I recently bought a 1989 Weekender 300 and am doing some rehab work. The only part missing that I know of right now is the door to a small storage area on the starboard side of the cockpit next to the helm seat. There is one on the port side as well, but I am only missing the starboard door. Does anyone have any idea where I'd get one of these or is it a case where it needs to be made or just forget about it? Thx.

I made new ones out of starboard.

Replaced my speakers in the cabin and at the rear of the boat. I bought 5" marine speakers wish I had bought 6". I didn't think the 6" would fit. I might remove the ones in the cabin and put them in the aft cabin and buy 6" for the cabin.

Splashed today. No issues that I can see "knock on wood". Hellooooo summer 2014!!

I installed Kenwood component speakers in the cockpit. Tweeters are installed by the front seats and the bass speakers in the rear where the original speakers were. They sound great! I still need to add a sub.

did the sea strainer get closed while winterizing, the one under the stairs? Also the hose from that strainer will kink if too long.I used to close the strainer while winterizing the ac system.

I belive it's a vacuu flush system. I do have a long hose that I will are sure it's not kink. I'm getting water in both sinks just not the head. I even unplugged from the toilet and no water at all...hmmm
