Mornin Y'all,
As I mentioned on my introduction I recently purchased a '76 SRV 300 Flybridge. In the past couple weeks I have been surveying her and making a list of things that need to be done, and things I would like to be done. On the top of the priority list is fixing the blowers on this boat. The wiring as purchased is a real Charlie Foxtrot. Believe it or not I cannot find a single blower in the engine compartment. There are two 3" hoses in the aft ventilation area that go down to the floor of the enggine compartment. The atr two hoses midships that go down to the engine compartmewnt floor on each side. There are blower switches both on the upper and lower helm areas. The switch in the lower helm has an indicator light that lights up when you turn it on. For the life of me I cannot find any blowers, or vacant wires where one or more might have been. Any SRV300 owners out there that can help me?

If worse comes to worse I will install the blowers with a switch on the cockpit area, as I have to get into the lower cockpit area to tuen on batteries and maintain the generator.

It's unfathomable to imagine the PO not having blowers.... Yikes....

Thanks in advance.

John

The blowers are typically located in the interior stern transom valance between the deck and the teak top cap the exit vents are under the stern teak cap. Remove the panels for access. Because of the station wagon effect created by running at speed it is always a good idea to run your blowers for a while before putting the boat away to dry out any moisture that might have settled. Because of this situation the par blowers seem to seize up occasionally, remove and turn the fan blades and lubricate sometimes salvages them. Good luck

I have a 79 SRV 300 . 3 Blowers located on starboard side, stern. Interior stern panel must be removed. You wil find what is called flange mount blowers installed there. If you replace them use the proper size fuses in the fuse holder located on the trim panel at the stern when you reinstall.
Good luck

Thank's guys

After a brief encounter with a "family" of wasps, I discovered the blowers. In afterthought, it did seem weird that there seemed to be two hoses going to the stern exhaust flanges...:smt021 It seems time and sea air had taken it's toll on the ground wire. Now that's one more thing off of the checklist.

thank you
john
