OE Isotherm CR 49 fridge failed

As the title states the fridge failed but actually all I really know is that it won't cool on any setting of the dial. There is a green light on right next to the dial that is illuminated. I searching for replacements I see this is pretty much the smallest marine fridge out there.

My question is... Is there anything that typically fails on these that is a "common" issue? I would hate to buy a new one only to have someone tell me "why didn't you just...."

My follow-up question would be... Does anyone have a source for one of these that is not both legs AND an arm? Put "Marine" in front of any word and the cost seems to be three times what you might expect lol. This is from what I can tell the smallest marine fridge made so the retail price is only one BOAT Buck.

There are many things that can fail on that unit that are not expensive. You're going to need to pull it and check out what the issue might be. A possible failure is a refrigerator ptc starter relay which can cost as little as $8. Assuming that the compressor is NOT running, you need to know if power is getting to the compressor. That is really the key yes/no trouble shooting question to be answered so that you know what to test/check next. If it is getting power, it might be the relay or capacitor, the thermal overload might be stuck, or it's possibly a bad compressor. If no power, then you look to the thermostat, switch, electrical connections, and any other upstream electrical components. Many times the AC/DC power box blows a rectifier or other component inside that requires repair or replacement of the power box. Also check to make sure the fan is working as they also go bad.

The only reason I would get a new unit is if the compressor is shot. All the other items are not that expensive to purchase and replace for most fridges.
