Over the weekend I had several odd things happen. Standby light on throttles flashed the entire weekend. The boat would not go into Skyhook mode and skyhook and autopilot were showing up as not enabled "contact your dealer" on the SC. My stereo keep doing odd things such as showing FM when the Ipod was playing. At one point while waiting on a bridge all gauges went dead while the engine was idling away. Gauges came back on after I switched a few DC breakers on and off randomly and kicked the boat in and out of gear. Has not happened since. My CP, Radar & weather would freeze in whatever mode they were in after a few minutes use, still working but unable to change modes. The only way to get them back in action was to togggle off and on.

Back on the boat today and all is well. Nothing to show to the dealer.

Dealer suspects a voltage problem with the batteries, or a surge. Any ideas.

Other than wondering if you happened to be in the Bermuda Triangle at the time, I have nothing to offer.

Seriously, good luck! Intermittent issues are the WORST!!!

it is does sound like low voltage issue. just let your dealer load test your house batteries or better all of them

Upgrading all batteries...even though new. Also found that loading up the weather with too many functions to process is known to overload SC system...seems they must go in and customize certain start up functions deep in the set up menu. Not sure about that one.

SUpposed to swap batteries out for the new "green top" maintenance free batteries. Seems Sea Ray has issued a bulletin for anyone with Axius Drive system to swap batteries in order to get the most amperage out of the batteries. Evidently the charger and generator cannot keep up with the massive power drain the Ax system puts on the overall electrical system. You do not have to even use it to get the drain. After a period of time underway the drain becomes more than the system can recharge and voltage begins to drop. Then the weird stuff starts happening. You go back to shore power and get recharged with all systems down and you are back in action the next day. The new batteries are supposed to solve this....we shall see.

Do you have a generator on your boat that could run to help keep the batteries charged?

yes these issue start after being under way for an hour or two with genny running.

Sounds like either a groundining issue, or a voltage issue. Check al of your cable harness connections and make sure they are not corroded, or loose. You'll know which are the power connectors because of the size of the cables and harness.

Formula has a SB that instructs the replacement of the altenaters pulley with a smaller pulley.

Have found the solution to this - new boat, seriously. Moving up after only a few months, (2010 390DA) deal we could not pass up. Never got the issue solved but dealer thinks new maintenience free batteries will solve this. Anyway...still having the issues but will be out of the boat in a week. Personally I think it all relates back to a power surge at the marina.
