Its October 1st, My government is shut down. and the forecast is to reach the 80s today. I figure so am I. The canvas is coming down. Good day for a run up the lake and improve my carbon foot print. Don't plan on being back early either. Maybe even a morning dinghy ride. I'll take these days as I can get them.

The government isn't shut down when you are in the military. Report to your place of duty as ordered. Report to the lake on Saturday.

Why not the government: congress shut down a long time ago.

The old saying, if they cut Congress's pay like they threaten to cut others. The boys and girls in the sand box would have to compromise.
How quickly we let them play blame games and forget that we voted them in. An we can vote them out.

Clearly balancing a check book was not a pre-requisite for public position....

I do not get this post??? They know what the books say...

It seems more like a husband and wife arguing over borrowing more from their 2nd mortgage, on their home, to buy more boat stuff and a fur coat...

We also could have a form of government that the votes of the representatives are always unanimous...

While Americans disapprove of congress (15% approval rate) in the November 2012 election 91 percent of candidates were reelected. Most Americans don't like the job other peoples congressional representatives do, while liking theirs.

The whole mess in Washington is just a bad joke on all taxpayers.....they waste like a crack addict uses!

The way I see it is, I'm a taxpayer, I effectively work for the Gov. amost 5 Mo's of the year, therefore I must furloughed too. Off to the boat for some of my favorite thing to do when furloughed. LOL

Everywhere is a wake zone! Go have some fun!

Now now now... I'm sure there are some conventions that are going to happen during the furlough...

Holy crap! Gary has awakened! Hope your business ventures are going as well as I have heard...

I received this a couple of weeks ago and provided a copy to all of our employees in hopes it would further stimulate them to become more interested and concerned about our current US financial condition. I can not say I have researched it to verify it’s accuracy but believe it to be a good representation of the challenges we and our children and grandchildren are headed for. I’m sure some of you have already seen it and I take no responsibility for its accuracy.

It puts it into a much better perspective.

Lesson # 1:

* U.S. Tax revenue: $2,170,000,000,000
* Fed budget: $3,820,000,000,000
* New debt: $ 1,650,000,000,000
* National debt: $14,271,000,000,000
* Recent budget cuts: $ 38,500,000,000

Let's now remove 8 zeros and pretend it's a household budget:

* Annual family income: $21,700
* Money the family spent: $38,200
* New debt on the credit card: $16,500
* Outstanding balance on the credit card: $142,710
* Total budget cuts so far: $38.50

Got It ?????

OK now Lesson # 2: Here's another way to look at the Debt Ceiling:

Let's say, You come home from work and find there has been a sewer
Backup in your neighborhood....and your home has sewage all the way up
To your ceilings.

What do you think you should do ......

Raise the ceilings, or pump out the crap?

Your choice is coming Nov. 2012.

SO MUCH TO UNDO

Different day, same $#!+...
