But if you are looking for a reason to limit folks speech, how about folks from the 10 most fiscally irresponsible states that voted for the majority party...

I have one suggested criteria for the BS, Obama, Democrate bashing (which I happen to be) on this BOATING website - if you are going to do it, I only ask that you have served your country in one the armed forces. Yup, if you are so full of patriotic zeal, that you feel it is neccessary to imply that Dem's are borderline socialist (and we get this type of crap on this website) then you should have raised your hand to serve. Ok, fire away under your pseudo names boyz.

I haven't ever replied to a non-boating post but I'm pretty sure I served for over 20 years precisely to ensure that any citizen keeps the right to say pretty much anything they want, whether on this site or elsewhere.

On a more serious note, the post was directed at the constant theme I see on this website lambasting Dems, and Obama in particular. Believe it or not, there are people on this website who don't appreciate it. Do you recall many posts jabbing at Republicans? Oh, wait i forgot, Bush was an awesome Pres, and did absolutely nothing wrong during his term. I have seen posts that have been borderline racist in referring to Obama and i am fed up with it. You can say whatever the hell you want, i dont care. Go to the Fox network if you want to call democrats socialsts. This is a boating website. And I do stand by my original comments. I appreciate the dedication to service of those who choose to serve in our armed forces. Without those of us at home working to pay taxes there wouldn't be much funding for you to serve our country. I consider myself a patriot as I pay my fair share in taxes every year and donate time and money to help our veterans.

I do appreciate the service and thank all of our past and present military members (my brothers and step-daughter included). But this has nothing to do with that and if you have a problem with what is being said, "If you can't stand the heat then get out of the kitchen" and go to another thread that you can. I spent the first 12 years of my life in the service. Went to 13 different schools by the time I got to high school. Seen more of the inside of a tin can than most here have seen their bilges. My dad has a commendation from Donald Rumsfeld on his bedroom wall. When he passed away last year he received full honors with gun salute.

I appreciate your stance and thank you for your service but please don't preach to me about ones personal commitment and duty just because they didn't actually wear the uniform. My dad would be the first to tell you that ALL citizens of the USA have a right to voice their individual and collective opinions.

BTW this post is in the Tiki Bar, a non boating post site. We are not discussing politics but mandated policy in satire. No one here has mentioned either side of the aisle. You pulled the racist card right out of the democratic play book. Your party has labeled illegal aliens as undocumented immigrants as to give them the perceived entitlement of citizenship. This thread was not intended to call anyone out but you took it there.

I will indeed respect and defend your right to voice your opinion here just like anyone else. You served for that right for you and me.

Have you guys heard about Barry's new "Hundreds for Hulls" program yet? He's going to offer up to $45,000 if you trade in your old gas or diesel boat and buy a new fuel efficient blowboat. It will create jobs (overseas), help the economy (of other nations), while providing oodles of new jobs here at home (at a cost of $1.4M each).

Makes me just want to send him my whole damn pay check because he can do so much more "good" with it than I can.

Bill Fletcher - I appreciate your service. I never served, but I have worked on civillian projects that have well... let's just say made the lives of people on active duty just a wee bit better (and a wee bit worse for the other guys ). Well I guess I'll get fined, showed up late to get my boat. Happy Veterans Day to those that served. To Bill, it was a voluntary service, like the site, and like this thread. Found the tread/topic funny. Having a laugh nowa days now can be a rare occurrence. I do have a question, and couldn't find one of the navigators to help. I was unable to use my boat this past boating season with all the uproar about this new equal boating legislation so it sat under its cover all season. Under this act, do I still qualify for a boat or do I have to sit out another year? Is there boat non-use surcharge? An extra charge for its cover? What about the trailer, any extra penalties for supporting a non-boating boat? I'm worried now. Help!

Sorry guys, under the ABA, you are going to need far more owner's of young healthy boats like me to offset the cost of taking care of older not so healthy boats like many of yours. But then what incentive do I have to pay 2 to 5 times my annual maintenance cost to support you guys when all I'd have to pay is a $100 fine for non-participation!

Well being that you have a boat that you like and want to keep, it is becoming clear that the ABA was designed to force you out of the boat you like and into one of the boats the Gov. thinks will be better for you, even if it costs way more than your old boat and may not even be as nice, and you won't be able to use it on bodies of water you were currently happy with. You will be given new bodies of water that you never were on before and don't know anything about. Another disturbing thing is that alot of these bodies of water are not going to allow the new Gov boats to use their water, so it may become more difficult as this law becomes more inacted to be able to find a body of water where you can use your new better Gov. boat.
