So has anyone booked their slips for the Illumination? I was online at 12:01am last night and booked my slips for Aug 17th -20th for the Illumination. Never been to it, but have heard about it from so many other boaters I figured I was due to finally get over there for this.

We love Oak Bluffs but have never done the illumination. I bet it will be very cool. The Campground area is unlike any place I have ever seen before. It is a long way off...but try to remember to post your experience...we would love to hear about it.

Some of the best fireworks I've ever seen. Great time. Didn't enjoy staying up to 12:01 last night, except the Deer Hunter was on and got to watch some of that.

Drob - Can you sit in your boat or on the bulkhead and see the fireworks or do you walk up to the park near the ferry dock?

I've never been and was wondering about where they shoot the fireworks off from.

We are in as well!! Talked to the Harbormaster yesterday and confirmed we are in as well! Illumination Weekend is a great time. Have always watched the fireworks from a mooring, so not sure what we will do this year, stay on the boat or go to the park. Anyone that is so inclined to go, I would highly recommend it. Great time and everyone is just having a good time. Come on summah!

We are confirmed as well for Illumination weekend. Good times and great fireworks show! Perhaps we should plan a get together for a cocktail or two over there.

I'd be up for a little Club Sea Ray cocktail hour... anyone have a boat that won't have a 3 yr old and a 1 yr old on it???

Looks like we are in as well, and happy to host cocktails on our back porch (swim deck). I will be making reservations tomorrow.

We normally go to the park to watch them. They are right in front of you at the beach. Brian's been waxing and was supposed to get wet Thursday or today (I doubt today with the wind).

No, not me, my cousin Brock, who is out of Portsmouth RI. I still have the cover on, still have to pay or I won't be going anywhere. I went by Zecco last Saturday and there wasn't a boat in.

I went with him last year early April to Newport-guys overnighter (Froze our --s off), got stopped by the coast guard (we were the only fools besides them out on the water). I don't know who was more nervous, us or the 18-19 old coasties.

You guys are "My American Idols"...........Maybe we should all do a "polar bear" run....I bet those AC guys cant do that!

Hey Wetpaint....I have been busy getting the boat cleaned, prepped and launched. Boat went in last Friday, and the first cruise may be this weekend to the Newport St Patty's Day Parade weather pending. It is always a great feeling to have the boat in this early!!!

Hey Brian....Hope all is well and business is at least steady....Our business has been hit hard, but surviving......Glad to see you are the early bird....I hope to be in around tax day..

Tried to get a slip for that week 17th - 20th. They said they were full up.

Looks like we'll have to head over to VH.
