Todd

It is always tough as your parents age and illness sets in. Remember the good times that you have had together as they will always be there for you to charish. With this illness you will provide the best care that you can for your dad. You will always be able to remember you did your best for your dad. That is what a son is for.

Thinking of you and your family,

Paul

Update:
Yesterday afternoon, the Nuerosurgeon successfully removed one of the tumors closest to the surface in my Dad's head. Now it will be sent to pathology for a biopsy. Shortly after his surgery my Dad recovered woke up and joked with the Nurses that they took the Swede out of him and told a Norwegian Joke.
(He's half Icelandic, 1/4 Swede and 1/4 Norwegian).

The Doctor's haven't panicked us yet and we're all keeping a positive attitude.

Our Family and Dad's/Parent's friends have really rallied around him and the hospital. It's been good.

Thanks for the update, Todd. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Thanks again to everyone here as well. The positive words, thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated.

I hope it all keeps looking up, so far sounds good.

Hang in there and be strong Todd......we're thinking of you and yours

Glad to hear that he still has his sense of humor. There truly is a lot to the saying "Laughter is the best medicine!".

Please extend my thoughts and prayers to your Dad.

In recent years I've had alot of experience in situations like this. I recognize some good things in your posts, strength, optimism and a sense of humor. I had to laugh when you mentioned your dads joke, sounded very fimiliar to me. Best Wishes to you all.

Thanks Again everyone
My Dad was moved out of ICU yesterday right as I got to the hospital. It was good to see him alert and doing well. We will wait for the results of the biopsy that they are performing on the tumor that was removed.

The Radiologist will be scheduling for treatments to begin as early as next Friday.

Thanks again to everyone here that has offered there support, thoughts and prayers. Again it's tremendously appreciated.

We all hope to keep hearing the good news. We will keep you and yours in our thoughts and prayers. I can say that radiation treatment has come a long way, they can pinpoint the area to hit with it and not take everything around that area. I know that for a fact.

Todd,

Our prayers are with you also. Humor is the best medicine and it sounds like your dad is getting a healthy dose of it! Keep up the faith!!

I'll share his joke to the nurses as he came to after Brain surgery.
Remember he's 1/2 Icelandic, 1/4 Swede and 1/4 Norwegian. There is a common jesting between the Scandinavian races much like the good natured ribbing betweened the armed forces.

After he awoke and said: "I think you took the Swede out of Me"
he told the Nurse this joke.

This old lady went into the Grocery store. She sees a sign there at the meat counter "Norwegian Brains $99/lb".. She asked the clerk "Why are those brains so much money?" The clerk attending replied: "Lady do you know how many Norwegians it takes to make a pound of brains?"
