NorthStar Transducer Mounting

Does anyone know if a Northstar compatible transducer will directly replace the transducer already in the boat for the smartcraft depth finder? I like the Northstar system and if the transducer is a simple swap without enlarging the hole, I can do it myself. If there are no direct replacements, I'll have to have someone install it. Planning on a Chartplotter, fishfinder, VHF and smartcraft integration. Radar and the rest can wait. Just started doing research on electronic packages so any and all help is much appreciated. :smt100
