Norris Lake in TN?

Just wondering who else around here boats on Norris Lake in TN?

I am usually up around the dam or Mountain Lake Marina.
 
I'm close by on Ft. Loudon, but Norris is landlocked so I can't take my Sea Ray there. We take our MasterCraft there sometimes.
 
I was there for a week in July...loved the lake but hated Mountain lake Marina....ramp was a nightmare , pool was closed by health dept. , motel room had no phone and was last updated in the '70s...sorry for the rant...we actually had a great time on the lake.

Thats all about to change. It Changed ownership this summer and some things fell off because of it, but its going to improve.

I wouldn;t think of styaing in one of those rooms LOL... I have friends with House Boats.

I ppulled my boat out there tonight because I had it docked there. I usually put in and take out at the Dam, but I didnt have any trouble. You boat is a bit bigger than mine though. Heck, it was really bad tonight considering the water is about 50' below what it was on July 4th. That Ramp is very long right now and not much room to manuever.

There are better Marinas no doubt, but all my houseboat friends are there because its close to our places of employment.

I heard the group that built Twin Cove bought it out and it will soon be transformed to condos similar to Twin Cove.
 
I have a place by Springs Marina. We love it there been going there for about 5 years now. Lake is lowest I've ever seen it for this time of year.
 
Last I heard, the was some block by TVA or other goverment agency that is preventing them from building condos on Mountain Lake. Last I hear there will be renovations and expansions to the camp ground area.
 
I'll be dragging my 280DA down there in July 19-26, we have a house in Deerfield with a dock. We'll most likely launch from Powel valley but I still plan to follow up with Bucknut for advice.
 
Just so everyone knows, Mountain Lake Marina is expanding their campground, not building condos.
 
I had my worst ever Marina experience there...last year.

Doesn't surprise me... they sold it last year and things were getting pretty low around there just before the handover and the new owners have hasd a lot to do to get things back up to par.
