I need help with a Norcold NR751BB. I spoke with Norcold; it seems the inverter/power supply no longer works. The fridge is in the cockpit. When on shore power, I must turn on the DC Fridge breaker in order for it to work......something that developed a few days ago. The unit is still under 2 yr warranty, but for coverage I would need to take out and deliver to an authorized shop. If I can locate a replacement inverter, I plan to do myself. I have checked various sites, but no luck. Any suggestions greatly appreciated as always.

Thanks.

When the inverter went out on my Norcold DE751, I took it to a dealer and he told me it is usually does not make financial sense to replace the power supply due to the cost. His advice to me was pay $200 more for an entire new unit and have everything new which I did.

You said yours was still under warranty. Why will Norcold not just ship you a replacement inverter and let you return the defective one? I dont understand why you need to find and purchase this part. They should send you one.

Definitely agree. Customer service stated I need to take the unit to local authorized shop, they then will open the warranty claim....not very convenient, which is why I would replace it myself.....if I could find the part. There are dealers that provide mobile service , ie to the marina, but by the time I pay the service call, etc. what's the point. Someone at marina had same issue recently; he just leaves the DC breaker all the time......not so sure that is a good idea.
