I have been using the first link to monitor weather and water information in the Potomac River. You should be able to see the data I have selected with the first link.
http://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/customview.pl?screen=PiJhZfWL
This second link is were you can build your own informational page.
The water that is covered by the real time buoy data is on the left side of the page.
http://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/ports.html
What I am doing is monitoring the current water and wind levels on the Potomac.
I can then compare that to the predicted that would occur during a normal tide.
This way I can monitor the storm surge and wind speeds at local areas that I care about and not have to rely on the general info the storm trackers give me in between Viagra commercials.
Hope this helps those who can not get to their boats to see what is going on in the area.
