2023 Mercury 150 hp Four Stroke Outboard
I replaced my 1993 Mercury 150 hp 2 stroke Black Max outboard with a 2023 Mercury 150 hp Four Stroke outboard. The speedometer, tachometer, and voltmeter are working fine, but the temperature gauge is not getting any signal. An 8 pin to 14 pin adapter was used. Any idea why the temperature gauge is not getting any signal?

Update: Mercury monitors water pressure on the Four Stroke outboards using a tube similar to how a speedometer works. There is no electrical signal. This is why the temperature gauge in the dashboard wasn't working.

For the 2 stroke outboards, Mercury used a cylinder head temperature sender/gauge. My mechanic installed a cylinder head temperature sender on my Four Stroke outboard and attached it to the wire for my temperature gauge. The temperature gauge is now working fine.

That's interesting thanks for posting
