Batteries are low and I can't open the Engine Room hatch. I have pulled the pin but I am concerned on how to lift the hatch door so I can grab it and lift. Pry bar comes to mind but I fear damage to the lip of the door even with a cushion. Any thoughts or prior successes? I will mount a strap or two after I get it open. Are there any power chords available to supply 120 to the vessel from a shore outlet?

This will use a grounded extension from the out let or plug this into the outlet then use my standard shore power chord?

I Have 2 Shore Power inputs. Do I need 2? Being Storage I only need to run the hatch and Charger through the winter.
BTW thanx for the info. :smt038

Must be early, I read the Marinco data and the bells started ringing. This plugs in to the recepticle and the my SP chord to it. Duh!
BTW I ordered one from Wholesale Marine. Still making a pair of strap handles to lift that sucker if I ever fail while out.

That never even passed my mind Saturday. It sat in the truck doing absolutley nothing!:smt013

what about running your genset to charge them enough to open it?

Wouldn't that only last about two seconds until the genset impellar failed? I believe it needs water intake. Maybe there would be a way to put a hose in it, but I have never tried that.

On our '96 'Dancer we have two optional batteries under the aft facing rear seat, under the floor plate. Allows me access to those two batt's to charge if neccessary, but the guys are right, a jumper battery plugged into the lighter receptacle will give you enough juice to lift the floor. Oh yes, a marinco or other shore power adapter plugged into your AC #1 will allow you to charge your batteries through the convertor.
