Help needed ... No power going to starboard wiper motor on 2005 340 Sundancer.

We finally tackled the inoperable windshield wiper. We procrastinated because it involved removing lights and the headliner. We disconnected the wiper motor, had it tested and it works. Checked power with a multi-meter where the wiper motor plugs into the wiring and there wasn't any power.

We're presuming there's power at the starboard switch pad (stbd wiper button light flashes green when batteries turned off then back on). Can also hear a click (sounds like a relay) when button pressed to turn wiper on and off; but green led light doesn't light up like the other buttons on the same switch pad (only at initial battery power up). The same click can be heard when pressing other buttons on the switch pad for other items that are working. The forward Electronic Interface Module (inside the hinged access panel at the helm) doesn't appear to have any popped up fuses.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kim / Steve. Go inside the EIM Module and look for the breaker that is for the stbd wiper. Make sure you check the labeling on the actual board behind the breakers as sometimes SR labels them incorrectly on the cover. Pull the breaker and make sure you have power on one of of legs it attaches to. Switch on or off, doesn't matter. Check that the breaker is good with a meter or test light. I usually just touch one leg of the breaker to a known power source and test the opposite pole with a test light. Sometimes these breakers will just stop working even though they appear fine and not popped. If no power, try using the other wiper breaker in its place to see if it works. This will at least rule out the breaker. It was my problem with my horn. Chased it around for a month, only to find out breaker was not letting any power through even though appeared not tripped. Good luck.
FlounderPounder has the breakers for $5.95 or so each.

I have 2002 340 and have had same problem. There is a breaker under dash for both wipers. Reset breaker wiper works.

Thanks so much Korkie.

Took the cover off EIM, no breakers were popped. Put the starboard breaker into the spot for the port wiper and it stopped working. Problem solved! Cost $14.

The knowledge of people on this site is so valuable. I wish I would have posted this issue prior to us pulling the lighting out and removing the headliner. :smt021 Just thankful it was only our time that was wasted and we didn't have the expense of a new wiper motor.

Thanks again.

Kim
