I replaced the working, but old CO alarm mounted on the fwd side of the fwd (stateroom) bulkhead.

The new alarm wouldn't light, so I tested it and found that the alarm works, but it's not getting power. The galley alarm is fine. I'm assuming that I must've allowed the leads to touch and caused a short.

There no pocket door on the 400DA. The wires disappear into the bulkhead and I'm not sure where to look for a fuse etc.

Any ideas? thanks.

The only Idea I have is to put this post into the maintanence section and ask there. I think there is one for electrical. There are some very sharp people there. Just scroll further down the forums. Good Luck!

I've changed my CO detectors on my 330DA and they had a small black connector (I forget what they are called....I know, I know...'a small black connector)...anyway....two things.....did you check the voltage with a voltmeter at that connector and did you look closely at the ends of that connector to make sure that the copper clips inserted into the black plastic part is not pushed in to where it won't contact the two pins in the CO detector?

"did you check the voltage with a voltmeter"

Dido, that would be my first check. Just replaced ours, or should I say added one as the previous owner removed it.

I remeber having a problem with my co dectors not working and if I remember rightly there is fuse behind the main control panel (1 amp) (that is on my 400db 2003 )

I replaced the fuse and all was ok

If you open your main breaker panel, behind you will find few in-line fuse holders with glass fuses in them. Those should be your CO monitor fuses. If there are not there, check your bilge for fuse panel. On some models there is 5A dedicated CO monitor fuse.

Pretty sure that the CO detector is powered by the main breaker panel with a small resettable circuit breaker of the push button type. You can push the button to reset it, but you can't turn it off.

Best regards,
Frank
