No power after trim solenoid replacement

I had the up and down solenoids replaced on the hydraulic trim pump two weeks ago. Last week, when I was replacing the speakers I had the radio on with no problems, but as soon as I turn the key to the on position or turn on the power to anything besides the bilge pump, all of the power cuts off until I flip the switch to off and then the radio will turn back on. The up and down on for the trim also works without any problems. The strange thing that happened, that hopefully someone can help me pinpoint the problem, is that when I moved the outboard down and then back up one out of a few times, the problem went away for the entire day that I was out on the lake with no problems. The next day the same problem was back. If there are any ideas on where to start looking for the problem, I would appreciate it. If I need to add any more info, please tell me.

Thanks, Jason

I'm sorry; it is my outdrive-Alpha one. The up and out on the trim did not work at all unless you jumped it from the pump and the down and in work but had to push the trim down button a few times before it worked. I was messing around with it yesterday and everything started to work again after I lowered the trim down as far as it could go on the trailer. Few minutes later nothing would work besides the bilge pump, trim, and radio. Raised it back up and down. Everything worked again for a few minutes and then stopped. Raised and lowered the trim a few times and everything worked until I took the boat back to storage about an hour later. I turned the ignition to on or flipped a random switch about every five minutes during that time, which would normally cut the power off to the radio which I would keep on, but had no problems. I am very lost on this one.

One thing I was wondering about is could the trim-limiters on the outdrive have anything to do with this? Just something I was wondering about since it only works when I move the outdrive down and up. Please ask me to clarify if there are any questions.

Thanks Jason
