Hi guys
One of my friends has bought a brand-new 245 sundancer.
But he can't get the vacu-flush pump to work. There is no
+12V to the pump, only ground.
In the cabin there are no fuses or contactor for the head.
Neither under the dash-board nor in the main-switch room.
In the toiletroom there are only the key to the macerator (and there is no macerator or collect tank).

Where is the fuse and switch located.?

The boat has been bought througt the internet, so the dealer is out of the picture.
And the switch in the head gives no current to the vacu-flush.
There are actually no current to the key since there is no main switch or fuse in the panel in the galley.

And we have tried to connect +12V to the key, but still without any result.

Are you sure the switch marked "HEAD" is turned on in the main breaker panel in the cabin? If that is not switched on the system will not work. And the key has to be turned on as well in the head.

If he has the owner's manual there should also be a wiring diagram he can look at if it's truly a problem and he wants to start tracing things. If he doesn't have the owner's manual, he can download it from Sea Ray's site. For a version in english, download the 240 Sundancer (same as the 245 Sundancer) manual from this link. http://www.searay.com/owners_manuals.asp?tab=&year=2006&folder2=2006_240_SUNDANCER

hmmm... there is no macerator or collect tank. There is no holding tank for the head? Then I wonder, do you have a Vacuflush?

Maybe post a photo of the head, engine and breaker panel?

Good point because the Vacu-Flush is an option on the 245 Sundancer and does not come standard.

Trust me:
We have tried the most:
Facts:
- there is NO switch marked "HEAD" in the main breaker panel in the cabin
- the key in the head/bathroom have no +12V supply. There is wiring coming from main breaker panel but it is not connected to anything (is loose because there is no switch )
- the outlet-tube goes from the head directly into the vacu-tank. From Vacutank through pump and out in the sea through valve in bottom of boat.
- the vacu-pump works when I supply it with +12V so it must be connected to ground some place (but where)

We have tried to:
- turn on water supply (OK with water to the toilet)
- turn on outlet valve from Vacu-pump
- flush toilet (It works all right when +12V direcly to Vacu- solenoid)
- go through the wiring diagram. It says, that there should be a panel for the toiletsystem but it isn't..!

What we need your help to, is to tell us, where are the toiletcontrolpanels normally placed, because then I can dismount the
panels to locate the missing connection.
I'm quite convinced, that the wiring is all right, but a connection
(+12V) is missing somewhere.

My idea is to mount the missing switch in the main breaker panel and connect the wire marked "head".
Then will the key in the bathroom have + 12V.
The wire-outlet from the key is going where?
(I have to locate where it is ending, and thats where I need your help.) There is no loose wirings nearby the Vacu-flush in the engineroom as far as I can see.

I'll take som pictures next time I'll be out there (next week-end).

did you get the vacuflush working? I had the exact same problem with my 2001 260 Sundancer. Head always worked perfect, until one day, with a boat full of friends, the head had no power! Turns out the wiring had become disconnected. My mechanic removed the key panel and found the wire had a connector halfway between the head and the dash.
Hope you have already solved your problem!

Ok this might sound dumb, but with no holding tank or macerator do you think he goes directly overboard? He is in Denmark, and while I don't know foreign laws other than the international waste disposal law....Just a thought...
