So, while most of you civilians are out on your boats, or docks, or beaches, or pool decks, I'm here in the AOC both Sat and Sun nights, 'til 2230. But, after I get off work tonight, I'll be meating my wife at the boat for an evening around the dock. I love nights like tonight (except the dang job thing). It's lonely on the internet on weekend nights (for civilized people, anyway).

I feel for you bro! Im at the firehouse till 0700 and will meet up with the bride when she gets off her midnight shift @ 0600 for a cocktail or two or three (bet your weather is warmer :) ... have one for me when you get out there!

Thanks, I will. And, we'll have the stern lights cooking looking for the oddities of the sea.

Not a good weekend to be stuck at the dock............it is absolutely Chamber of Commerce weather/seas. Almost every slip is empty at the marina..........care to guess where they are, John?

Thanks, Frank, rub it in. We've spent two nights out each of the last 2 weekends, or so my wife says. It's all a blurr to me. I've actually enjoyed the Fri nights better than the Sat nights. Things get a little too diluted out for me. A few good friends, and some beautiful weather, and I'm fine. Too many distractions and it becomes more work servicing relationships (gripping and grinning) than relaxing. We'll probably dinghy out for a while tomorrow morning. Then, back in here for me.

"Meating" your wife at the dock, huh :)

Now...
was that a misspelling, or...

It took almost a day, but someone finally caught that.

Change 1. Meet at the boat, wife's stomach is really upset. I have a beer and help a friend land a 32' Hunter, engine out. My wife's in pain and still puking down below so I have a beer and look for my alligator buddy. Only found racoons. Wife's still puking so we load her up in the truck to go home. 0100 we're in the emergency room. 0330, after 3 x-rays, a thorough ultra-sound, morphine (only for her), a doctor's examination and 3 scripts, we're back on our way home. Just got up. Time to get ready for work. She's fine now.

When we first showed up at the ER, the receptionist said that it sounded like "The Bay County Bug." Apparently, it's been going around. Guess I don't get out much.

Next weekend should be better. I'm staying on the boat tonight - alone.

Where are you a Firefighter? I'm a Lieutenant/Fire/Medic/SWAT-Medic in a suburb of Cincinnati. Back on shift tomorrow (unit 2). Are you 24/48? It's not a bad schedule for boating, and I only work 110 days/year!
