Ok Everyone still pretty much a Newbie and headed to Newport with the family. Looking for some references on marinas. I prefer to be in a slip not a mooring unless I don't have a choice. We have younger kids with us this go around so need that in the equation too but don't want to be too far away from the fun. Any suggestions and info is greatly appreciated.

The newport hotel is great. Also Ryans family amusements is right across the street for the kids.

yup, I agree with Wetpaint. Newport Harbor Hotel and Marina is where I always stay when we go to Newport. Its close to all the action, but quite enough when you don't want to hear all the noise.
