Hello Everyone. I just purchased a 1981 SRV 260 Sundancer. The boat is in great shape and I know the previouis owner is very meticulous about his stuff. First project will be to refresh all the teak so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Any advice on maintenance/upkeep?

Thanks and I'm looking forward to a great summer of fun!

Welcome to CSR and congratulations on the new to you boat. Thanks for putting your boat info in your signature. There is a member map in the Site Navigation pane to the right, you may want to locate yourself on the map. Bring on some pictures of the boat and also the teak you want advice on, it may help someone to advise on how to clean. Refinish is an application or two of teak oil (linseed oil).

A couple of links.

Thanks for the tips, links, and the warm welcome. I'll make sure to get some pictures of what I'm looking at and some before and after pictures to share with everyone. Right now I just can't wait to get out on the water and tie up in a nice shady cove and start working on it.

Congrats! I'm sure you've got serious spring fever! Boaters world sells a teak refinish, cleaning, and seal kit for teak.

Welcome to the board, is your boat the pre-cursor to the 268DA? My cousin has an 1988 268DA and it is a fantastic boat. any simularities? (besides the TEAK:smt021)

I'd say that the SRV 260 is a precursor to the 268DA but I'm by far no expert. I bought the boat for the deep hull and the excellent layout for it's size and overall value for the size vs. price. Tomorrow I'm off to the marina to sign my slip contract. By the way, I'm located in Nashville TN on Piercy Priest Lake. Thanks again for all the response. From what I've seen so far, this is an awesome site and group of Sea Ray owners.
