Newb with a 98 185 BR

Figured I'd introduce myself. I'm Mike and about 2 weeks ago I pick up this 1998 185 bow rider.

The next day ordered the tower, speakers, radio, and amp. Also have a swim platform being built for it as well!

Hey man the boat looks good but it looks like you did the same thing with your tower that I did with mine when I first put it on. The back legs of the tower are on backwards. All the legs are supposed to swoop to the back. I have the same tower on mine and it only took me a few minutes to swap them. Not sure if it really matters as far as the structural integrity goes but once I swapped them the tower looked like it should. Here is a pic of mine, not sure if it helps or not.

Nice boat! Who is building your swim platform? What kind of tower is that you and dalefan264 have?

I bought mine from Legit Towers a couple years ago but they don't sell that one anymore. It is the same one as the Aerial Airborne tower. All those universal towers are usually built in china and you will find a bunch of different places selling the same ones. Does the job at a fraction of the cost of the higher priced towers. I have had no problems out of mine and I hang some really heavy speakers on it and pull some big guys out of the water. Just make sure you use bigger backing plates than the ones that shipped with the tower.

Thanks for the complements! I ordered my tower from Big Wake Towers. Like delefan said, they are all probably made in the same chinese plant but sold under different names.

My platform is coming from SwimPlatforms.com Pricey but they look factory!

And I put the rear legs on like that to be a little bit different than everyone else with the same tower. Structurally it shouldn't cause an problems and already put it to the test with my buddy that is about 280 ish pounds!
