Hello,

I recently became the owner of a 94 300 Sundancer, and I was hoping to get some tips and advice from the community on my new Sea Ray! The boat is an inboard with v-drives, has 440 hours total right now on each motor, the generator has 532(currently inoperable) and its in absolutely fantastic shape cosmetically.

This is the first boat I have owned, besides a pair of jetskis, but is not my first experience with boating or the water. I keep it in a slip on an Arizona lake, where my family and friends visit it (almost) every weekend.

I am starting to get the feel for the vessel, and her quirks and oddities. From what I gather, there have been many updates/upgrades to some of the systems, while others appear to be factory.

I have several question on issues and quirks that I will post about/research separately, but I wanted to introduce myself, and see if I can get a few new owner pointers.

  • What is the general compatibility across models/years for parts?
  • What is a good first upgrade?
  • What should I be watching out for/looking after closest?
Thanks in advance!

Welcome aboard! Given that you are in Arizona and it is hot there, I would get the generator working first. That will give you access to the air conditioner when you are on the hook in the sweltering Arizona sun.

Thumbs up on the generator for the A/C-Come visit me at Lake Mead-Temple Bar Marina:D

I owned a 94 300 for about 10 years. (bought a 04 340 about a year ago) Glad to help with questions if I can.
