Contracted on a 44 dancer in FL. Dual raymarines have FL charts only. How do I find charts to get me to MD?

I encountered this exact situation on my boat. You need a Navionics+ CompactFlash card. Also, check to see if your E120s have the latest firmware installed (5.69). Navionics quit making the CF card chart software update kits, but you should be able to find one. I bought this one from Defender. It comes with a blank 2GB card and a special USB CF adapter. You get a license that's good for one year after you activate it, then you just download the chart regions you want, up to 2GB. I also bought a blank CF card and used the CF adapter to save the latest firmware from the Raymarine website.

Don't forget when updating the E120's you can only use a card up to 256 MB for the update.it won't work with a larger card..again if my memory is correct.

This is a good point, but I believe it depends on the firmware version. If yours has a really old firmware version it may be limited to 256 MB CF cards. Later firmware versions allow to use a bigger capacity CF card.

Thanks! I'll be sure to check when I get to the boat later this week. Boat has two e120s, should I chip both or just the chartplotter?

hate to say it but they should both have up to date firmware/chart cards, you may be able to find the cards used on eBay but both of mine have redundant info. Plus an iPad with both Garmin and Navionics apps running every time I move the boat.

the way I run mine is: 1 running large chart with radar overlay the other running a radar only box, another smaller chart w/radar overlay and another box with depth sounder.
Its my way to run them but I can scan both and get a great idea of what's going on and check one against the other to verify what I'm looking at.

Just need a mid Atlantic chip. Got a southeast, Florida, and northeast for sale/trade.
