Hello can anyone recommend the best option for replacement tips for an 1982 31 Vanguard? Great Lakes say the don't have patterns that far back

Likely going to have it custom made. I'd check the yellow pages/online forums for fabricators in your area. Look for people that make custom awnings and other canvas related products. I'm in the same boat, and finding somebody is difficult. I'm sure somebody will chime in with better suggestions.

My neighbor has an '81 Vanguard and had canvas made by:

I'd go with a custom made top. It may cost a few bucks extra but for that extra money you get to sit down with the canvas designer and give him input on whatever modifications or extras you want.

I had a custom done for my 330 Sundancer and spent an hour or two with the canvas maker and discussed with him where I wanted the support poles, that I wanted the canvas top extended all the way back to the back end of the transom, I wanted the sides to turn down a little for more sun protection, etc. We also had a full set of windows made and a full set of screens to keep bugs out.

It turned out great!
