Hello all!
Carrie and I live in Virgina Beach, VA and own a 2001 410 Sedan Bridge! We're missing our trips to the marina more and more as the cooler air is moving in. For others who use their boat year round....we are interested in what equipment, other than the onboard HVAC units do you use to keep the cabin dry and not-so-cold during the winter season. Looking forward to sharing bits of info here! Thanks!! Jim & Carrie:smt024

Welcome to CSR!!! You will want to put your boat information in your signature (year, model, motor, etc). Wish I could be of more help with your question about keeping the cabin dry but I will let the experts give you that advise. You will find there is a great group here that loves helping other boat owners out. Again welcome to the board.

Welcome Jim & Carrie!

Can you give us some more detail on your boat? Was it built as an export, or is it a 410 Sundancer/EC, or a 400 Sedan Bridge...?

I'm from your neck of the woods. The first winter I had my 480, I kept it at Long Bay Pointe there. If you are out striper fishing off the beach there this winter, you may see me.

I keep an oil filled heater in my boat in the winter for when it is plugged into the shore power. That seems to be what most people do around the marina I am at during the winter as most people use their boats until the end of Jan (fishing).

Welcome Aboard!
Here in the NW we have dmp and chilly winters but not freezing temps too often. I use a oil filled heater, like Gary mentioned, on low in my bilge for my engines and water system and then a small electric box heater with a fan in the cabin. I was told with cold water temps it isn't good to use the HVAC sytem on the boat. Hope this helps!
