Hi Everyone,

Our family is the proud new owner of a 2004 185 Sports. We live down under in western Australia with 4 kids... (3 of the them triplets). Our little 16" Aluminium runabout was not cutting the mustard any more.

Did my research.. looking at a 18 to 19" bowrider.. must be 4.3L and must have anchor locker.. We found our little rocket ship.

I am completely blown away by this boats allround performance..
At 8 knots and no wake zones it is a pleasure to be on. I love the quite rumble of the V6... (Compared to an 50 hp Merc OB on the old boat )
At 12 -15 knots sits pretty...
Give it the beans and its peaking out at about 43 MPH.

The most impressive thing on this boat is its handling it turns on a dime at nearly full speed... just awesome..

This is my first Fibreglass IO sports boat.
So will be very interested in any tips and gotchas...

Thanks for having me club searay !

My Dad had a 18' fiberglass boat when I was a kid. Now he has aluminum. I like the fiberglass better. The Aluminum feels like a loose car when making a turn at any speed.
Congrats on the new boat and welcome.

Welcome to CSR from siberia, otherwise known as Holland, Michigan USA. Back in 1979 the admiral and I started into the boating world with a 16' Silverline ski boat. 55 mph was top end and very fun. Fast forward to 2014 and we are pleased to have our 2008 40DA. Good Luck, BE SAFE!

Welcome from the frozen north. We've had a few boats with the 4.3 L in them and yea, they're awesome engines. Good power when ya need it and excellent fuel economy. We used a 17 pitch prop for skiing and a 21 for cruising. Post some pics if you can and show us where you do your boating. Most of us are enduring the bitter tail end of a cold winter and would love to see some boating pics.

Bet that 16 foot tin boat went pretty good with a 50 on it.

Oh, and post some pics if ya can. This "cabin fever is the ****s !!!!!! :smt089

We are still in summer down here... I work next to a guy from chicago he is telling me all about this 9 months of too cold to use the boat... hehe...

Anyway for all those in the cold snap (Chris) here is some videos...

This is video of a few years ago shows our old boat...

I do most of my boating at night on the swan river here in Perth... But now with the new boat the family is keen to go water sports when ever we can :)

Thanx for posting the vids. Couldn't get the second two to work, but the first one is a good enough fix 'till I get home to a good computer. Bet you'll be boating all winter too with your new ride. Cheers.

Very nice videos. They little ones are so cute. That's what it's all about right there. Family.

Great videos and beautiful family! Enjoy those moments. Time flies and they grow up entirely too fast!
