Not new to boats, I have had 3 before this one. First was a 1993 Searayder F13, second was a 1988 Baja SunSport 196, third was a 1979 Chris Craft Excalibur 31OS. Well we live over an hour from water big enough to use the 1979 we sold it and I was looking for a Searay, my father has has mostly Searays, currently a 1994 310 SS, so I was going on his experience and recomendation, find a Searay. Well we found a 1989 Searay 230 CC with less than 200 hours on it 5.7L 260 HP alpha one, boat shows like that as well. The boat has new convertible canvas and drop curtain, no cockpit cover. The boat is also sitting on a newer, 2005 Majic Tilt trailer. So far we are happy with the boat. I had to play with props a bit, last prop I tried from a friend was a 14.25 x 19 4 blade this was just a bit much for the boat engine only ran up to 3900 RPM. I have settled on a 15 x 16 4 blade Michigan wheel for it. So far we are happy with this boat, it is the right size to go on the inland lake a mile down the road from that house yet still comfortable on Lake St. Clair. I just need to get this trailer adjusted as the boat sits to high.
